Writer's Block Blues I am very busy getting ready for winter so little time for music plus I have a case of writer's block. So I threw a bunch of chords into Band-in-a-Box, selected what sounds to use and then did a one take jam over them just for the fun of it. I thought it came out pretty good so I decided to post it. Feel free to let me know what you think, both good and bad. BiaB style - Vapor Bluesy New Age Piano Tempo = 60 BPM Piano-EZ Keys - upright - preset 70's ballad Guitar - Sonivox Bright Electric Guitar Strings - UVI - B5 Organ - preset - Greg Allman 1 Drums - Addictive Drums - FairFox Vol 1 - preset clean crawlotto - fx Waves CLA drums Bass - Ample Bass - Jazz bass - FX - Waves JJP Bass Me - lead guitar - Amplitube 5 - my custom preset - FX - Presonus Pro EQ
I've accidentally swallowed a load of scrabble pieces. My next trip to the toilet could spell trouble.

Mario,
Nice melodic guitar!! It goes to some really nice places.
Good work, as always. I always enjoy seeing what VSTs you are using. Going to check them out "after the show" is half the fun...
I do not like the sound of the closed Hi-hat (it sounds "cheap" or "fake" and it's a bit loud). It annoyed me all the way through.

Hey Mario...sometimes "the Block" resets our desire to create instead of just produce...must be nice to be this gifted as a musician even when you think the juices aren't flowing...BiaB is a real kick-starter though..right? I always enjoy your stuff...Dan

Came out good Mario. The voicings were outstanding & the melody told quite a story.

Mario, Nice crying guitar! A few very unusual and tasty harmony twists for blues. Laid back, and listens well. However... I think drums sound a little thin compare to the rest of arrangement. I would probably look for better patch or EQ / reverb them to better fit whole sound. Thank you for sharing.
Misha.

fj Thanx for these comments Floyd. I usually separate each drum track/drum/cymbal and search for the best fit but this time I just let it fly. Obviously I should have taken the time and done that here..

Hi, Mario:
That’s pretty impressive putting this together as quickly as it seems you have. Some really slick and smooth guitar playing here. Very enjoyable blues instrumental. Nice!
My very best to you,
Deej

Nice feel. Tasty guitar. I like your approach to writer's block. Write, right? Cool changes for the blues. I enjoy your creative spontaneity, Mario.
