Hi all,

My first contribution...

It's a song called Catch Me, written and recorded with the help of Band-in-a-Box. It's available on all streaming services, and there's a video on YouTube.

To access the song on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/steve-peacock-4/catch-me-master
To access the streaming version, use this link: https://inspire.lnk.to/CatchMe
To access the YouTube video, use this link: https://youtu.be/RPnkzmAeBjk

I wrote the chords and vocal melody in BIAB and then exported the drums and bass to GarageBand, where I recorded and mixed everything else. I sing and play almost all the instruments (except the BIAB drums and bass), and my brother played the acoustic guitar and added some backing vocals.

RealTracks in style: 2608:Bass, Electric, ModernDiscoFunkAlex Ev 110
RealDrums [in Song:BluesRockSlowEv^1-a:SideStick , b:Snare

I've written two more songs with the help of BIAB ... one of these, called Go Tonight, is being released on April 4th and the other one is still in the recording phase.

I hope you like it

Regards
Steve

Hi, Steve.

This gets my attention from the get-go. You've got a fun voice to listen to, and I love the harmonies.

Nice pop - I enjoyed listening! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thanks for the kind words, David.
I still don’t think I should be singing… but sometimes that’s how it works out

Welcome to the forum Steve. I'm pretty new here myself and have enjoyed it. There's a lot of support and ideas. I especially liked the intro of your song. It really reaches out and grabs you right away.

Steve,

A nice Pop-ish Rock tune.

The chorus is especially nice - the layered vocals have a great sound.

Catchy. Good mix.

Welcome to the Showcase!

I really like that spanky compressed guitar on the left.
Cool song your voice sounds familiar.

Thanks, Ray.
It might just be my South African accent ... I guess people (at least here in the US) say it sounds like the Australian accent - so maybe that's why it sounds familiar to you.

Well. that was a really good introduction of yourself to the forum.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you were, at some point, influenced by duran duran and the Clash. If not.... I'd be astounded because I certainly heard the influence of both of those bands in there. Especially in the harmonies.... Between rocking the casbah and hungry like the wolf.....

Man, nicely done.

Thanks, Herb & Marty.
I have a pretty wide-ranging taste in music, from jazz through to punk … so I don’t think I could even start to pin down what might influence my guitar playing

Hi Steve,

Nothing wrong with your voice to begin with. Go on singing.
Especially the choruses sound great.
It's a very good song, well played.
Lovely video.
