“The War on Ukraine is an unimaginable tragedy... As a human, and as an artist, I felt compelled to respond in the most significant way I could.

So today, for the first time ever, I publicly performed my Dad’s song, IMAGINE.

Why now, after all these years? - I had always said, that the only time I would ever consider singing ‘IMAGINE' would be if it was the ‘End of the World’…

But also because his lyrics reflect our collective desire for peace worldwide. Because within this song, we’re transported to a space, where love and togetherness become our reality, if but for a moment in time…

The song reflects the light at the end of the tunnel, that we are all hoping for...

As a result of the ongoing murderous violence, millions of innocent families, have been forced to leave the comfort of their homes, to seek asylum elsewhere.

I’m calling on world leaders and everyone who believes in the sentiment of IMAGINE, to stand up for refugees everywhere! Please advocate and donate from the heart. #StandUpForUkraine”

An absolutely beautiful tribute. A song with so much meaning in today's troubled times.

Thank you for sharing.

Really well done! Glimpses of his father voice shine through.

I used to live a couple of doors down from the Dakota where John lived with Yoko and Sean, and I often saw her out walking the dog.

When I walked to work through the park I had to cross over the Imagine sign that covers a spot in the entrance to the park. It got me (and gets me still) every time I see it. Goosebumps. The meaning of it.

This is very pure--this performance. Quite remarkable. The boy who Hey Jude was written for and about now all grown up and singing this song in times like these. How can you not be stirred?

For a brief flickering moment (really) I was reminded of what music actually is.

Thanks for posting this.

It's a lovely, heartfelt performance.
It pushes forward the always annoying, to me, lack of plural agreement in the beginning: "imagine there's no countries", but that's an artefact of his dad's writing and no worse than many others.
It does beg the question, which he tried to answer, why now? Why not for Yemen, Syria, Palestine and the other nations in similar situations and with worse death tolls?
The answer, invariably, comes down to awareness which comes down to media exposure...Murdoch et al aren't interested in the other ones.

Cheers
