F6 - it doesn't resolve - it's not there to resolve - it's there to sound right and, in chord theory terms it floats, it's "says" the story continues. This is where standard progressions lose me...people have become deeply invested in the road as laid out in the 19th C through submersion, cultural imperatives etc. I think it was a fine choice, gives a slight The Beatles voice to proceedings and the fact that it pricks up ears is a plus.

This is beautiful! Wow. And yes, it's a very positive song! Luminous and festive - perfect for a special birthday, or for an anniversary. Loved the video, too ... really clever imagery! Dave gives the perfect cameo, on guitar, but I thought that your writing and joyous singing stole the show. Well done! Thank you, James. You always bring a smile. Great porosity and use of the hook, Marty! Love the lift into the chorus which really sets it apart. Well done and congrats on the 44 years! Thanks, Dewey. Thanks for commenting on the lift before the chorus. You're right about its importance, too. Marty.
nice sentiments/song lyrics.
really like the backing.
that organ is very good mate.
clever last chord.
happiness.
om Thank you, OM. I'm also a big fan of using that B3 --maybe overusing it at times. “Once you came into my life I could never ask for more.”
That very first line had us hooked!
This is such a sweet gift for your sweetheart and a treat for us forumites.
Excellent vocals and bass, as always.
Dave’s solo was super and the RT’s and RD were a perfect fit.
The video was very creative. Janice loved the dream catchers and the rainbow and heart filled sky. The smiling eyes reminded us of your granddaughter too.
Enjoyed them both and happy early birthday to Barb!
J&B Thanks you guys!! Today is her birthday, and I let her sleep. She's up now and the fun begins. Take care.

Great song written for a great reason. It's tough trying to put into words the way you feel about someone that means so much too you, but you've made a pretty good stab at it here. I'm glad that you've found someone to share your life that makes you so happy, and I hope she had a great birthday!

Really cool song Marty. I had a listen the other day on the youtube via headphones. Listened this time on my studio monitors. So much better than my earpods. Excellent vocal and lyric. I'll bet your wife loves this song. Daves guitar was excellent as well.

Wonderful love song with great lyrics. And that catchy chorus is still in my ears... Thanks, BD. I love it when earworms find a home. Marty. Congratulations on those years together and your tribute. I hope she likes it. I'm sure she likes it.
Vic Thanks, Vic. There were some not-so-good moments too, but it was quite rewarding to learn through them. And the rewards continue. What a beautiful tribute!
The chorus soars. Wow.
"I never would have seen the sky in such a pleasing blue I never would have known such love. I never would have you." Those are my favorite lines.
I bet she cried after hearing this.
Sonically, that last chord doesn't fit. Have you tried making a BIAB guitar chord an F6 using Meladyne? Thanks, Scott. Great feedback. I'm jumping ahead here a bit, but I like Ray's reply to the F6. [see below] But I know what you mean. The sound of that instrument was way too different than the rest of the song, but... It was weird that I couldn't get the BiaB players to sustain the chord. I don't have that version of Melodyne --just the monotone one. Hey, those are also Barb's favorite lines. Sonically, that last chord doesn't fit.
Nicely done Marty. Not sure if I'm noticing the same thing but the outro seems abrupt and not quite resolved. Could be a preferrence thing? Nonetheless nicely done. Thanks, Steve. I knew the last chord was sounding wrong, although I like the F6 for reasons Ray mentions. I would have preferred to get it right with BiaB, but I had to move on. My only other available option was to fade or something. Thanks for listening to the end, and your honest opinion. Much appreciated. Marty,
What a wonderful expression of your love to your wife! She surely loves this! Your vocal is right on the money! Harmonies are spot on also! You did great work with this!
Thanks, Torrey Thanks, Torrey. Yep, she liked this song, especially the part of creating the need for it.

Congratulations to your wife and your 44 years together, cannot imagine, especially to still be able to write about love in such a fresh and romantic way. Lovely video also. Catchy and beautiful melody and the band, heartfelt vocals and Dave's solo are very pleasant to my ears. I like F6 Janne

Hi Marty ...
You and Dave gave us a real gem for our listening pleasure. And it was, indeed, a pleasure. Congrats on 44 years. Everything is perfectly in its place, both spatially and volume mix/ Kudos ... really, really nice!
