Peter. I loved that fiddle intro. Great vocal, reminds me of Willie Nelson. Great warmth in the mix and song as a whole. Great lyric.
For me, the busier drum track coming in was a little harsh for the song and I would have stuck with the original. Either that or brought it back in for the last verse or toned it down a couple of db.
Great stuff!
Vic Thanks Vic Peter

Well, y’all know we love the song and Janice is still walking around singing, “You have been my lodestar, shining in the dark.” (She says Leon’s phrasing on that lovely line are just perfect.)
From the haunting melody and the beautiful fiddle and your usual tasteful guitar to Leon’s lyric (that begs for a novel to tell the whole story) we appreciated being asked to be a part of this song.
Loved it!

Peter,Leon & Janice, A wise, witty and well told tale- I found the relaxed pace suited the world-weary subject. Janice adds her signature sweetness to the chorus and Leon`s lead vocal has character and is well captured in the mix. An enjoyable ramble through a life`s regrets!

Peter,Leon & Janice, this is music at its best. Just the right amount of instrumentation to set the mood. The vocals were spot on, the harmonies were perfect, and so was the mix. Absolutely a brilliant collaboration.
Loved it.
Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

Yes, a huge Willie vibe here, and quite an enjoyable tune. Great to get Janice's superb vocals on here. It's just me, I would've liked a subtle clue as to which armed conflict is referred to, unless it's purely fictional. Top work here! Thanks a lot. Peter

Hello Peter and Friends ...
What a great song! That fiddle is so dang good. Great blend of Janice's b/g vocals.
This might sound a bit weird, but the vocal delivery reminded me a bit of if Boz Scaggs did a country-folk song - the reason I make that comment is the half-singing and half speaking vocal delivery in places. Of course totally different genres but still that characteristic of your vocal on this one brought that to mind. Could be the neurons in my brain are playing games, but that's what thought as I listened.
Regardless - this is a really cool song. Totally enjoyed my listen.
Alan Thanks Alan we appreciate the review. Peter

A lonesome road but there are some touches some light humor.
I can see your audience nursing a beer or a bottle of whiskey in a cowboy bar.
Nice work all around!

Peter...what a great ambling easygoing song...the arrangement is so well done ...I love the intro...it has that old country feel...your vocals are top-notch and fit the song so well and Janice adds some great harmony...my only nit is that I don't think the devil has the best tunes Thanks. Peter

Cool music throughout this song Peter. It felt like an old cowboy campfire song. Especially liked the guitars in here, and the harmonies were great. Thanks Brad. Peter

The intro really set the mood for the song. Loved the instrumentation.
Thought I had my car in drive but the damn thing was in park
Great line among some really good lyrics. Janice's harmonies were a treat as well. Thanks David. Peter

Hi PeterF,
Very pleasant melancholy song. The sound of the violin and Janice's voice are excellent. Well done.

Cowboy song coolness. Well done Peter & Leon, An amusing narrative and a solid melody. Good arrangement and, of course, Janice as icing. Thanks Ray Peter Great vocal delivery, Peter. I first read the lyrics and loved 'em. When I pushed Play the emotion entered and the song grew strong. Man, when Janice came in, the whole thing took a leap to the top shelf, and you kept it there through the end. Regrets are nothing more than the kind of things the road crew cleans up after a horse parade. You're right, the road is much more rewarding with a travelling companion. Thanks Marty appreciate the review. Peter

Excellent lyrics, I really like the different kind of story, touches like it was told straight from heart and still has sort of irony that makes me smile. Enjoyed the band and the vocals. Janice really brings her extra magic to the already catchy chorus.
