Hello my biab's friends,
How many of us have not dreamed of flying away to find ourselves in a space of serenity? A Belgian painter Jean-Michel Folon has well illustrated this majestic flight of our spirit from our dreams in his paintings and video clips. With this instrumental composition, I tried to pay homage to this sadly deceased painter.
It's a simple composition that I created initially with the vst Biab. I took different realtracks. I replaced them from the midi files. These have been modified according to the melody and other more appropriate vst have been put on the modified midi files.
Thank you for your constructive comments if you want.

I like it, it sounds like a good movie score.

My only criticism is the acoustic guitar (or whatever instrument that is) playing all the time, it makes the song seem a bit too uneasy.
I would take a break from that instrument here and there....

Hi B.D.Thomas,

Thank you for your comment and your remarks. I reviewed the composition by stopping the arpeggiation on certain passages and replacing it with guitar strummer.

Great work, Derochette, and thanks for the explanation. I really like the way you dream --or how you interpret Folon's dreams. I had to look him up. Thanks for sharing that knowledge, too.

Enjoy whatever happens!

A lovely way to dream and an equally lovely composition to illustrate it.

The imagery it conjures up comes easily and the tune would fit nicely in the right film.

Well done!

This music suits the paintings so well.
While listening we let Google find his paintings and we watched them.
Very good combination.
Very well done!

Derochette,

Another very fine composition.

I'd be interested in what the acoustic guitar is and how it was generated...

Hi BabuMusic,

Thank you for your nice comment always encouraged in my atypical style. I also appreciate the fact that you have done research on this painter with naive but so representative paintings And also a big thank you for your comment on soundcloud (because I do not yet know the correct procedure to do it directly on this platform.

Derochette...I love this piece...the intro is very mystifying and haunting with the choir movement...and I love the chime...this WOULD BE a very great soundtrack for the right scene in a movie...the movement of the main instruments is so interesting and captivating...my only problem is the ending does not fade out well...it seems abrupt and cut off...well done!

Hi floydjane,

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Here in this composition it is not me who plays. I used a vst musiclab realguitar which in some aspects can appear too mechanical but which has many rhythms in picked finger or strum which can be rearranged by the pianoroll in the midi file to humanize the finger playing.

Nice one. Personally I'd have opted to leave out the drum kit and untether the track from the ground.
Well done & an intriguing explanation of your process too.

Cheers

Derochette,
Ethereal and flowing with some lovely nuances in the rise and fall of different instruments.
I enjoyed this very much!
