Thanks, Ray. The video link has been fixed. Yeah, the song is a bit out of my comfort range, so the higher notes can lose breath. The only high pass was when my brain said sing high and my voice said pass.

Haha. Thanks, Dave. Yeah, that hesitation idea came when I took the stems into DAW and now had too much space before the Bridge. I know I could have still cut out the extra measures, but sometimes creativity flows like a river down the path of least resistance. wink

Thanks, Floyd. Yeah, that cymbal seems to annoy a lot of us. I could say it's there to symbolize the fact that dark days are coming to an end, but... well, I'm just not good with drums. In the late 80s I had to program a complex drum machine for a bunch of songs. It was fun and educational, but then I bought a set of Ludwig's and invited drummers. Much better.

Thanks, Dan. It's good to know that dark days are coming to an end. Of course, the fear is that they may become darker. hehe No fear, my friend.

I concur with some of the other posts: that chorus is mighty catchy. The resonator seems to me to be the perfect fit for this. Good work!

Thanks, Brad. Yeah, I miss Dave for this one too, but the dobro worked alright.

Thanks, Tom. I say thanks, but mean so much more.

Thank you, Scott. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your likes and comments on so many different places.

Happy New Year to you, too, Andi. It'll be another good year for great music. Thanks!

Thanks, Bass Thumper Steve. I like how you say "stutter-stepped the chorus and went to a bridge instead." Yeah, that says it all. I can't say the lyrics are about me. I know "they" always say write about what you know, your own life, but my life is far too boring for a good song.

Haha. Thanks, BD. Those words would be considered an "aside" in production notes. Yeah, drums are surely my Achilles heal in the studio --even when I recorded live drums. I like the ability to change and add fills, and the new stems in the 2023 BiaB.

Thanks, James. I wish that was true. Comfort zone is low E to high E on a guitar, but this song had a couple F#s that suffered. Even in the comfort zone I can't glide effortlessly, but I appreciate the comment. Yes, your grin was the best part of the song for me.

Thanks, Janne. You know that's always the best thing a songwriter could hear, that the song was stuck in your head.

Ah, that opening cymbal is obviously a bad way to start a song. So glad you persevered, Robert. Well, I have a black belt in Hapkido, but have never been in a fight in my life. Smooth talker, I guess. Thanks for listening, Robert.

Marty,

Really fun catchy song.

I completely disagree with all comments about the cymbals.

These are obviously people without a fine and discerning musical taste.

It is obvious that all you need is a very loud cowbell throughout the song to cover the cymbal up.

Just kidding!!!!!

Man, I liked this song!!

Thanks, David Cuny. The light has finally dawned on me.

Thank you, Peter. Much appreciated.

Thanks, Scott. Yeah, I tried nearly every soloist available, and the reso was the only one to fit.

Fun!

Your bass, as always, was smooth as butter and we liked the dobro.
Excellent demonstration of an RT solo. Rob Ickes is a fantastic musician (Bud did some work for his band way back in the day).

That chorus is textbook regarding what a great one oughta be.

Fine vocals and mix ice the cake.

Another fine video and the kittens at the end were a treat.

Kudos!

Marty,

Great song my musical brother! I always enjoy everything you post! It's odd to not hear Dave's playing on one of your tunes, but you selected a great soloist! Loved the creativity with the hesitated vocal line in the middle! You are such a valuable member of the BIAB community!

Thanks, T
