Hi Herb,
This is the real thing when you love Country. What great, 'classic' vocals you have! Before me I see a video in which someone visits a snack shop at a gas station in a sun-drenched town. And they played your song...
Very nice, Hans

There's something about the song that sounds sort of country, but I can't quite put my finger on it... Chevy reference? Check!Boots mentioned? Check!Cold beer on a hot day? Check!Guns and hunting? Check!Broken heart? Check!Checks all the boxes for me! Plus, a great vocal, excellent backing and stellar mix. But... one demerit for playing in Gb - that's no key for a country song! Looks like we checked almost all the boxes. Funny thing was we really didn't set out with that goal in mind. One man's Gb is another man's F#.... it is what it is. It takes me back to the days when I played in the church musical ensemble. Weird keys were the order of the day. I rarely used a CAPO on my guitar. Learn the chords and quit complaining. Anyway... thanks for listening.

Wow, Brad has a pretty good voice, perfect for this kind of music. Great arrangement, great mix... I like it Yes he does. While I absolutely love putting vocals on a song, there's times to check the ego and go with someone who can really sell the song. That's what we did. Thank you for listening.

Wow, this was great! Pure country, and pure goodness. Great idea for a country song. I loved that first verse and that bridge was perfect writing. I wish this Brad could sing as well as the Brad in your song. He did a great job with the vocal and it grabbed my attention from his very first note. Great production all the way through. The only problem I can mention is this song ends ... Too Soon!
Great job, Brad Great idea for a song.... that's exactly what Brad said when I asked him about this. Regarding the "ends too soon" aspect..... we were aiming to keep it around 3:30 max so...... there's that, but yeah, I hate to see good things end too soon also. Thanks

Guitarhacker:
Terrific write . . . smooth, compelling (and very country) vocal . . . and an authentic country sounds. It all works really well. Excellent collaboration! Nicely done!
My best to you both,
Deej

SUPERB. I love this kind of song, and this is masterfully done. The accent your friend Brad places on "broke" is from another level - just to mention one of many great details in here. So, so, so well written and performed. Could easily, easily be on the radio. Sincerest congratulations. Man we certainly appreciate your kind words. I'm glad you liked what we did and how we did it. Thanks

Herb...this is a really well written song...if I heard this on country radio I would not be surprised...you guys did a great job on the total production of this one! Brad has a great county voice and had a super melody to work with...stellar effort guys! THank you so much for listening and responding. I'm glad you like the song.

Herb and Brad this is country at its best. Brad can really sing. The mix is spot on, great dynamics. Loved the lyrics also, however you missed a train reference for the perfect country song I do agree with David that Gb is not a country song key. Maybe you should have done this song in F#. Ducking and running for cover. Now I am not kidding this is a fantastic song. Great job gentlemen. We'll have to catch that "train" on the next one or the one after that. F#,,,, we should have thought of that. Brilliant! And it would probably have been easier to sing in that key too. Thanks for your kind words.

I'd offer it started too soon. well, not enough intro to get my head around where things might go. "First day of deer season, one in the sights The day the love of your life smiled and said “I do”." That's either laughing out loud fun writing or backblocks woodshed weird.
GREAT voice, and every moving part meshes with the machine like synchro. Well done. I've been told by some in Nashville, that for the intro, shorter is better. So I opted for a 2 measure intro.... hopefully, your head caught up quickly. Those are down home country boy lyrics.... Thanks for listening and commenting.... and yep.... we're glad you liked it.

This is pro all the way. Good write, good vocals, good band. Why isn't this on my local country radio station? It should be.
https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2025 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Love it, Herb. What a good song. Excellent write, and a terrific choice calling in your friend Brad. A really good collab, and top-notch vocal. Those lyrics are so relatable to everyone. Speaking of good things ending too soon, 3:29 was way too short. You chose the perfect band, too. Hope you guys come back with more real soon. Thanks Babumusic.... Yep, I'm with you.... I have always preferred the concert or album cut but we decided to go with the radio edit so.... yep, it ended Too Soon.

Traditional country is alive! We were just talking earlier today about how much we love weeping steel and the steel and fiddle both in your song were mighty enjoyable. Brad’s vocal was perfect for the lyric. Nice band and mix. Enjoyed it J&B
