Love the 'literation! Sweet chorus. Cozy and comfortable as a well-worn easy chair. I heard "coos at me" and thought "What's he gonna rhyme that with?" Clever! You and Bill did great with this!

floyd,
It's a very beautiful melody. The lyrics also reach my heart directly. Even more miracles happen when it's expressed in your vocals. This kind of song is called a masterpiece. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

I agree with all of what the others have said. It's a sure hit, should be on the radio, your best yet.
Seriously though, a very nice, straight forward, feel good song. I bet there are a lot of people that would love to play this for someone...and a lot of someone's that would like to hear it played to them. Thanks, C. Great to see ya back... I agree with all of what the others have said. It's a sure hit, should be on the radio, your best yet.

This is one of the best love songs I have ever heard. Loved it. Thanks, Mario....

A simple, lovely melody artfully dressed with a deceptive arrangement. The narrative is a good one and very well written. Your words also mark the difference between Australian & US English. You folk use "different than" while we tend toward "different to". I think the latter is an abbreviation of "different, compared to". Of no real importance but it's a quirky language with local, regional & national variations. I enjoyed the song, I really liked the cello at the beginning and the way other parts wove whole cloth so well. Thanks, ray... different Excellent story telling Floyd. I am sure there a quite a few people than can relate with these lyrics. A simple tough life but from of the view someone very appreciative. Well done. Thanks, Scott... Thanks to you (for making it.) Love those changes, and I always enjoy your lyrics and vocals, Floyd. Another inspirational song, and as Caaron said, it's perfect for singing to others and having others sing it to you. Love that opening line, man: "wondering by wednesday where the money went." And then the kicker: "but i loved every minute thanks to you." Oh, yeah, pass out hankies and roll credits. Excellent. Thanks, Marty...

Floyd (and Bill):
Excellent write and smooth production . . . and a compelling vocal. On the production, hard to believe that there are 9 instruments in the mix, because it’s so crystal and balanced . . . an expert at work and it shows in every aspect. Bravo! Great hook on the write—wonderful lines through. Excellent!
My best to you both,
Deej

One of the best things about this is that many people can relate to it. Life rarely goes exactly according to plan. However this song production sure sounds like it did. Great vocals and mix. The lyrics are the star here. Well done, Tom

Yeah! Just a lovely song, floyd! Loved that opening verse, it really set the stage for the rest of the song. And then: "yeah, it's sure been different than what we planned, the things that two young kids didn't understand" That pretty much sums up most successful relationships I think, the ones that stand the test of time. Just great writing ability to be able build a story that way. Great vocal as always, and the track sounds great too, love the way you used the cello. And I realize looking back that I have used the word "Great" way too many times! Excellent, enjoyed very much. Thanks, Dave! (I've increased your allowed quota of "Great!"'s - so you're still good)

Nicely done and a good choice on the instruments.
Enjoyed it. Thanks, Herb. Floyd,
An excellent co-write. You're a songwriting machine! Great vocal, instrumentation and mix. I especially like the cello, and the reso guitar is working very well too.
Nice Job!
Greg Thanks, Greg.... Floyd,
This one hits a new high.
What a beautiful song and arrangement. The production is stellar and your vocal is stunning.
Out of this world music…

Great song Floyd. The instrumentation really brings out the heart of the words, and they have a lot of heart. This is what country music should be. Thanks for posting.
Brad Thanks, Brad... floyd

A really pretty, evocative love song.
Peter. Thanks, Peter... Hey Floyd,

Well done Floyd.
Such a great theme, universal, and appeals to an older guy like me.
The melody, chords, lyrics, are all working so well together. And a nice full orchestration also.
Cheers,
Frank

Smoothly done and well written, Floyd and Bill.
Worth checking: It could be my ears but I could hear a few mismatched notes in the first 50 seconds between the guitar, piano and cello. Maybe the culprit is the cello. Not sure but it's only a slight niggle and as I said, it may be my ears. Another nice one.
Vic Thanks, Vic. I don't hear the mismatch you are referencing. Love it! 'nuff said! ... Okay, where do I start? - fantastic how you tell the story of a life with just a few words. Pure poetry - this is a great arrangement and a great mix - beautiful vocals - should be on the radio, absolutely - the first 'you' sounds a bit strange, but that's a minor nit you can ignore Much appreciated, B.D.... Excellent hook and great setup! Vocals are spot-on as usual. The dobro fit perfectly (and cello). Consider a different fiddle background in the first verse; oddly though, it seemed to fit really nice at the end of the song with the dobro. Overall, really loved it. Thanks for stopping by, Dewey.

FJ & Bill, Very strong collaboration. Ace lyrics and vocals. Very cool bed. I like parts when Resonator guitar enters and bass sneaks in. Very good mix. 2 spins - sound great. Thank you for sharing.

We love this “true life” song and immediately thought of friends and family.
“learning just what love and true committment meant all the while believing you were heavensent”
The above lines speak volumes.
Man, that is one powerful and full of soul vocal carrying a wonderful melody.
Another showcase in the showcase for illustrating just how amazing RT's and RD's are in talented hands. Great mix and the dobro was a nice touch indeed.
Thanks to you and Bill for another beauty of a song!

Beautiful, Floyd. And well timed. These are times the young struggling to make ends meet families can use all the help they can get. Thanks, ed. Love the 'literation! Sweet chorus.
