Mountain Morning Prayer
https://soundclick.com/r/s8nslx

I ran across an old ADAT tape with a project that Amber did for me...she was 15 at the time...so I took those 30 year old vocal tracks....changed the style radically and let BiaB do the rest...I have come to love and appreciate bluegrass music.....so I constructed a five piece bluegrass band and changed the title of the song...any comments or suggestions are always welcome...so...if you do...thanks for listening...Dan

FYI the song is inspired by what is commonly know as "the Lord's Prayer"....for fun...if your interested this is the original recording:

Beautiful song and an arrangement that gives Amber the room to shine.
Well done, despite the banjo grin

Dan,

An REALLY nice use of BIAB tracks. Excellent production (I like the banjo smile )

Amber sounds great. The soft echoes are very effective.

Good mix.

Well done.

Hi Amber and Dan
A beautiful song
The idea with the echo fits perfectly to the song
The whole instrumentation and of course Amber's vocals are fantastic
But the original version is in no way inferior to the new one
Incredibly good work
Many greetings
Andi ;-)

I don't know how you did it but you did an outstanding job of mixing 1993 vocals with a 2023 BiaB band!
Great song, great vocal, great mix.

Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

Hi Dan,

Lovely song! Amber sounds wonderful, amazing that she was only 15 at the time. Great tone!

I had a listen to both versions, I like them both equally I think.

Excellent!

Hi there Dan. I tried to comment earlier, but kept getting kicked off, so here goes - I'll try again. I think you know I'm a big fan, and this song is yet another example of why. This is such a fantastic song. I listened to the new one first and so I was surprised at how much I liked the original. I thought you did a great production on both. I probably like the new one the most, but that's just because I like that style of instrumentation. It's incredible to hear Amber was only 15 when she recorded this. It's a fantastic vocal. Some of her phrasing sure shows your vocal influence on her delivery - just fantastic. This is one I've played over and over. I just lean back, close my eyes and praise. Job well done my friend,

Brad

Brad...thanks so much for your comments...and thanks for taking the time to listen to both renditions...from the time she could speak, she could sing and did so non-stop...her vocal ability inspired me to write many songs specifically for her to sing...this being one...I never noticed any similarities in our phrasing but you noticing that is very cool and I am of coarse very, very proud of her...then and now!
Thanks so much...Dan

So lovely to use a vocal that was recorded years ago and let BIAB do the rest.
Awesome production.
The voice sounds vulnerable, which suits this song so well.

Great work.

Really good mix and production. That bass sounds perfect on my KRK's.

Everything is well balanced and the vocals are superb.

Very nicely done. Starting with only the vocal track and reverse engineering the band to fit. Always a fun way to do it. Especially when you have such a good track to work with .

I'm not the biggest fan of BG music but there are certain aspects of it that I do love. And this happens to be one of them.

I enjoyed this.
