You know it would really be great if we could have some real vocal backing on BIAB.
That would make make the program complete for me.

It would be nice to have one part solo ooohs and aaahs, two part harmony, and four part harmony...just female voice, just male voice, harmony female, harmony male, and mixed female/male. Maybe Manhattan Transfer is available to record them.

I would love some good vocal background RTs. In my sampletank VSTi I have some nice Ohhs and Ahhs, but RT versions would really be cool.

I agree, vocal backing would be wonderfull. Real tracks are so much nicer than midi! Greetings from Holland!

In addition to the vocal backings, I would just add a wish for a group of sustaining string styles, along with styles of sustaining organ styles.

Also, how about adding some neat scat singing that follows the chord changes? Imagine trading fours with that?

Maybe the specialists at pgmusic should take a listen to the vocal oohs, ahhs, and scat singing in the new Yamaha Tyros 4 that will soon be available. Demos now on youtube and elsewhere.

I agree with the wish for a horn section. I do a lot of Western Swing and Country. I'd love to have a Mariachi horn section to add to a Western Swing sound!

Realistic OOOhs and Ahhs would be just great. But why stop there? It would be great to have a full choir, male and female, and both, and maybe a children's choir. Santa, are you reading this?

I'll give a big +1 to Harvey's list.
I just had a listen to the Tyros 4 on YouTube. The "shoo-be-do-bop" vocal with wavecyling is cool, although obviously of dated. A lot of the vocal "magic" of the Tyros relies on being able to play specific pitches to match the melody - for example, the various "scat" demos. Also, the phrasing is pretty robotic.
On the other hand, having various vocal pads ("doo", "ahhh", "oooh") RealTracks would be pretty awesome, because you can change RealTracks on a per-bar basis. That's not enough to have the backing vocals sing "doo-bah" behind the lead, but it adds a lot of variety.
While changing on a per-beat basis would be cool, that's probably easier done with volume envelopes in RealBand (or your multitrack of choice).
The same thing would be cool for slow strings - a high, middle and low pitched set that could be switched between would be great.
While vocal pads and slow strings could be relatively static, I'm curious if anyone would like to elaborate as to what "horns" could be. Is there a particular style you're suggesting? It seems that's a rather large area...

While we're naming current vocal groups for possible Real Tracks, how about The Blenders? Ever heard of them? Four guys in the Minneapolis area, Dakotas, or somewhere up north. They're known for their Christmas albums, but do a lot of other material as well. Great harmony.

It is really not that ahrd to sing a ohh and an ahh on a separate track. Clone it and change the pitch a 3rd and or a 5th. take a track and sing a harmony over the lead and run that thru the TC plugin as one voice and do several separate tracks and slowly blend them in.
I use my TC voice works and program out the lead voice and record one harmony at a time.
Where RTs wouls come in handy is that after a while your own voice starts to sound the same and having another voice helps sound more diverse.
So many options and ideas!!!
