Alan,
Another beautiful instrumental. Drums sound good. I thought that that acoustic lead was just slightly too loud - it gave me the sense that the acoustic was "jumping out of the mix" (and sort of "showing off" - volume-wise) every once in a while (not all the time)
fj Hoi Floyd ... Thank you for the listen and the input. I'll give that acoustic lead track a little compression as soon as I can get back to it. And maybe drop the overall volume just a tad. And maybe I'll give the two guitar tracks a little more separation - not much, just a little more. Thanks a bunch! Alan

Sentimental chord progression, I can imagine this as the background music for a nice romantic evening in a hotel with wine etc. Definitely romantic, reminds me bit of the Love Boat theme. Drums' volume is perfect, not too loud, but still enough to give the backgone for the track. BIAB has many great instruments to choose from and you have selected an excellent lead guitar.
Janne Hi Janne ... It's always nice to hear from you. Thank you so much for the very nice comments. I like the scene you suggested! best to you. Have a great weekend ... Alan

Lovely sound. The drums aren't too loud but the rim shot is very thin while the snare slaps are more full bodied....is it possible to add a little wide boost in that area for the sections where it's more prominent? Sweet.
Hi Ray ... I always look forward to your comments and suggestions. I'm delighted you enjoyed the song. I don't have individual stems for the drums, but I think I can enhance the rim shots by carefully playing with the full kit's EQ. BIAB's 10-band equalization plug-in can be very helpful and effective with those types of modification needs. And Audacity offers additional possibilities. I'll look into that next week. Thanks so much. best to you, mate! Alan

ONE ANSWER: No. The drums seem perfect to me. But, man, there is no way to bring my ears away from those guitars. Sweet. Ah, this is a by-the-fire-under-the-same-blenket kind of wonderful sound, Alan. Well done.

The mix and drums sound fine on our monitors.
Another high bar all BiaB production!
It presents a very nice chill vibe.
Love those acoustic jazzy runs on the guitar. It gives a sophisticated feel to the piece without being over the top.
Well done and enjoyable!

Hi Lovely Folks ... Thank you so much for all the kindness. I simply love the Slack Key RTs. "... sophisticated without being over the top." I appreciate that particular comment! As always, many thanks and wishing both of you the very best. Alan

This is so beautiful, as with every song you've posted. Chord progressions are your forte ... so beautiful, so unexpected, and yet they carry one's soul, floating, from one to another, seamlessly. A beautiful, unexpected, healing journey. Wonderful lead guitar. The drums are, to my ears at least, absolutely fine . Soothing and healing - thank you.

Very beautiful Alan. Lovely and serene. By the way, I don't think Picture is the style. I looked it up everything looks different.

Very beautiful Alan. Lovely and serene. By the way, I don't think Picture is the style. I looked it up everything looks different. Hi Dasvid, I'm very glad you found it "lovely and serene". That's exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you so much for validating it! Glad you enjoyed it. As far as the style, here's the memo directly from the chord input page: ****** Song Summary ************* Title: A Sentimental Dream File:A Sentimental Dream.SGU Key=Eb , Tempo 75, Length (m:s)=3:37 No intro. 32 bar chorus, from bar 1 to bar 32. Repeat x2 choruses No Melody No Soloist track. Song is saved with Volume, Pan, Reverb, Chorus, Bank0, Song is saved with bar changes for Volume Changes, Style is _PICTURE.STY (Picture Sappy Country Pop Ballad) RealTracks in song: 3502:Bass, Electric, NashvilleRadioBalladA Ev16 075 RealTracks in song: 3700:Guitar, Acoustic, Soloist SlackKeyBallad Ev 085 RealTracks in song: ~~1676:Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking CountryBrent Ev 065 RealDrums in Song: CongasEv16[single] RealDrums in Song:NashvilleBrushesCountryPopEv16: a: Sidestick, Brushes b: Brushes ******************* I replaced many of the indigenous style instruments. The way I write my instrumentals is I first fill in the chords. I then find a style that reflects the "character" I was looking for - at least, the closest thing to it. Then as necessary, I replace the indigenous instruments as needed to further develop the sound to my liking. Because I changed out many of the instruments, it might not sound real close to the original style. I almost always start with chord input and then search through the styles for one I like, and then mix and match instruments until I get the final sound. There have been a few times I heard a style I liked and then created a song within it, but usually, it's the opposite way. I just got lazy and failed to mention the instruments I replaced and deleted. Sorry for the confusion - my bad! But the song did start in the Pictures style and then morphed from there. But it is encouraging to know that some folks actually take the time to check out the info provided. That put a smile on my face! Take care ... Alan

Alan, Smooth & melancholic piece of music. Very airy and unusual. I probably listened to adjusted version as I didn't feel the drums very loud at all. Actually I think lead acoustic is a bit loud. Good one. Thank you for sharing, Misha.

Quite the befitting title.
It seems to me that the drums sit perfectly in the mix.
Nicely relaxing piece.

With chord progressions like this, you're going to give James a run for his money! Nice song, good mix, with the hand percussion tucked in way in the back.

Hello Al good mix Melody sounds very nice The guitar solo, just because it lasts so long, has strengths and weaknesses. But I guess that can't be avoided in such a long BiaB solo. Great work Many greetings Andi ;-) Hi Andu ... Thanks for the listen and the very kind words! Take care. Alan

Hi David ... My bad! I forgot to mention that I'd swapped out several of the indigenous RTs for different ones. I entered the chord pattern and went looking for an RT that suited me and ended up with "Picture" because I liked the rhythmic feel of the style. But I forgot to mention the instrument swaps in my OP. When you're approaching 80 years old, the cobwebs in the brain become more numerous and feisty! I'll try to remember to make those comments when I swap RTs in a style. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. And many thanks for the kind words in your original comment. Much appreciated! Best to you & yhours. Alan

Hi Everyone ...
I replied to David's (Snyder) comments out of order as I think he deserved an answer to his query as soon as possible. I'll get to the rest of you tomorrow. Lots going on at the David household at the moment. See yas tomorrow!

I agree with Bob, Saturday afternoon coffee house describes it very well, and I mean that in a positive way. The drums are good.
