Start All Over

A song about starting over.....

Vocal & Lyric Leon
I played acoustic & electric guitar

The Band:

RealDrums in Song: Soul60sEv^1-ClsdHHtSnr,BusyBass
RealTracks in song: 1762:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Pop16thsArp Ev16 085

Start All Over

I’m just waiting for today to be over
I’m just waiting for today to end
I’m just waiting for today to be over
So I can start all over again

I’m just waiting for the moon to be rising
Waiting for the darkness to descend
I’m just waiting for the moon to be rising
So I can start all over again

I’m going to let today slip away
Some days are just not meant to be
Lie here, close my eyes, wait for the next sunrise
To see who I might be

I’m just telling myself don’t worry
Somehow, it’ll work out in the end
I’m telling myself not to worry
You can start all over again

I’m just waiting, anticipating
I’m just waiting, anticipating
I’m just waiting, anticipating
A brand-new day

You can get out of the other side of bed
Implement those schemes inside your head
You can get your mojo back again
Turn it up to eleven out of ten

I’m just waiting for today to be over
Waiting for a better day to arrive
I’m just waiting for today to be over
So I can feel like I’m glad to be alive

I’m going to let today slip away
Some days are just not meant to be
Lie here, close my eyes, wait for the next sunrise
To see who I might be

I’m just waiting for today to be over
I’m just waiting for today to end
I’m just waiting for today to be over
So I can start all over again

Cool stuff Peter & Leon.
Interestingly I REALLY wanted the bass to match the vocal phrasing of that intro. Weird aren't I?
A really well arranged piece...the ebb & flow of instruments works a treat.
The guitar playing is spot on and serves the song.
Leon's really in the zone with this too.
The ending is COOL.

Cheers

Oh, man. I think you broke SoundCloud with this one, Peter. I was all excited to hear the cool stuff Ray did, but Soundcloud seems down. I'll be back. Man, a Peter and Leon song and I gotta wait, knowing it'll all be worth it.

Enjoy whatever happens!

AH, fixed. The first thing that caught me was the song image. Reminds me of when Barb & I booked a room in Philly that was walking distance to The Stones show. No refunds. We walked to the concert and drove home.

I've been waiting for the day to begin, and now it has. Thanks, Peter and Leon. Well worth the wait. Excellent vocal and a catchy melody. Leon, I always enjoy your lyrics and can quote almost all of them, but this one is my fav:

"You can get out of the other side of bed
Implement those schemes inside your head
You can get your mojo back again
Turn it up to eleven out of ten"

Strong piano in a good mix, and, Peter, your guitar work always brings the song to a high-polished shine. Nice fader, but that guitar leaves us wanting more.

Peter / Leon,

This is excellent. Love the flow of the song and the vocal is outstanding.

Some great guitar lines also. Very well done!

Peter/Leon,

Enjoyable listening. This one flows nicely.
Cool selection of instruments.
The entanglement of guitar and piano works well.
A nice "Smooooth" to Lean's vocal. Sits in the mix nicely.
Nice solo.
Good mix.

Thanks Ray - you'd almost need a bass player to do that!

Leon and Peter ...

So nice to hear a new one from you gentlemen. It's been a while, so this was a pleasant treat!

Been there, done that. Fortunately, it's been a very long time since the last time.

A real nice selection of alternating tracks. All fit perfectly and play nicely together. Loved it all the way to the fading ending. Nice work!

Peter and Leon, you have produced a winner in this one.
Leon did an outstanding job on the vocals.
I loved those lyrics.
Outstanding instrumentation and mix.
Loved it.

Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

I like the piano and guitar intro. Very relatable lyrics. Vocal performed well and conveys the emotion of the lyric. Good song.

“I’m going to let today slip away
Some days are just not meant to be”

These lines say it well indeed and we could almost feel the hands of the clock moving.

This is all so good. The lyric, melody, arrangement and performances by both of you had Janice singing along and replaying it all while she made a batch of scones today. She really loved the way Leon sang the above lines in the second half of the song. smile

Gotta mention also how nicely the piano carried the gentle flow.

Well done ... you two!

Hi Peter and Leon,

A very nice song with good/cool lyrics, although also sad.
Enjoyed it much. Nice solo in it too!
In the third verse I had expected the vocals to become louder, but you did not do that, more singing a little restrained or 'cautious'(?)
So I was put on the wrong leg, so to say ;-)

I join all the others with their compliments on this so nice song!
I agree the both of you work very well together

Peter & Leon,
Fun theme. Solid musical bed and played guitar parts. One of the best Leon's vocals, but... I think it could come upfront a bit. Good one.
Thank you for sharing.
Misha.
