Dewey,

Good song with a great beat. I would leave your vocal as is. It suits the song.

Good one, Dewey. You had me from the title. Peeps would ask how could I eat ice cream while drinking beer. They don't get it. Really good song. Excellent lyrics and I like the change of key to emphasis the taste. I'm mostly a wine guy now and I get questions like how can you drink red with fish. Hey, the husky voice sounds perfect for the message, man.

Enjoy whatever happens!

I saw that title and said to myself.... Self, that is gonna be a good song. I was right. And you are right. Beer goes with everything including itself.

Good song and a good job.

BTW.... I think the "husk" as you called it in the vocals adds the right character. I'd leave it.

Good song, fun lyrics, and I totally agree with the sentiment wink

I really like your vocal BTW, I'm with Herb, sounds great just the way it is.

Good country write. Some clever lines. Fun to listen to.

Gives tastebuds all their leverage

nifty rhyme, but sort of meaningless, because what sort of things do tastebuds have leverage over, anyway?

Then again, there's a time and place for a clever rhyme, and this sort of song seems just the place.

I enjoyed the listen! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I agree with all of your lyrics! Beer, it ain't just for breakfast anymore!

IMHO this is your best to date.

Outstanding song
Great lyrics and vocal
Great mix

I loved this one

I thought leverage fit based on this definition: 'use (something) to maximum advantage'.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! I'll keep my 'husky' vocals and just clean up some of the poorly enunciated words then.

Na zdrowie!

Dewey,

A strong write (one of the strongest I've heard from you). Lots of "clever". Good alliteration (a tool that many never think to use).
An appropriate backing. An appropriate vocal - they fit the song.
Back when these type songs were being recorded, this one coulda had legs. ('70's or early '80's?... been a while)
A good job on this.

(a quick note - you sent me a PM. I responded about a week later - I was away for a while. Anyway... you have not read the response - there is a notification at the bottom of the PM, is how I know. I'm assuming that that means you are not seeing the little red flashing icon next to "My Stuff"...that means you have a PM waiting.
Just an FYI)

I like the vocals as is. Like others have commented- they work nicely in this song. The BIB tracks sound organic like you are singing with a live band at a bar. Nice song.

This is cute Newey.

Definitely has that old school Garth Brooks kinda sound to it.

The lyrics are clever. I like it!

“Well I don't have a PhD in the science of grape-ology
But I know one libation meant for any food I'm tastin'”

Agreed! We also say that life is too short to drink cheap beer. Get the good stuff.

That was a fun listen and a fun lyric. The huskiness in your vocal sounded good
Nothing wrong with vocal resonance at all.

The modulation was effective.

Cheers!

I'm by no means a beer drinker, but I like your song, great uplifting arrangement and pretty cool lyrics.
I wouldn't revise the vocals, they fit the song perfectly.
