I haven't upgraded to Win7 yet but I'm thinking the time may be coming.
My first focus is on retaining XG voices for my Midi.

I prefer Yamaha XG voices. My current audio card is a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz with the Yamaha DB50XG daughter card attached to the waveblaster connector on board. Running under WinXP3, 2.4 G Proc quite well.

The last TB WDM drivers were WinXP. So if I migrate to Win7 (32) it is likely I will no doubt have to stop using the TB Card and the XG daughterboard . . . or at least the XG daughterboard.

So to keep using XG sounds what are my alternatives besides keep on keeping on using Win XP - fortunately I don't have GAS. Lol. So the simpler the better but with XG. I am finding out though that RTs are replacing some of the voices for which I purchased XG.

Some combo of Yamaha sound module and basic sound card??? Can I do this without a keyboard?

I have an old Roland keyboard controller A-30 and a guitar controller GK-2A and a GI-10 interface for External Midi In, but would a something like a Yamaha MU90 module be suitable for External Midi In and Out XG voices? Could the old TB Santa Cruz be used for just audio (XG daughtercard removed) in a Win7 computer. And 'yes' money IS an object.

Any Thoughts? Thanks.
Ian
