Thanks everyone for the input. I have no problem staying with XP3 for the music computer and the XG Daughterboard until PG forces an upgrade of OS.
Turtle Beach has always had good clean audio and they have a couple of Win7 compatible cards to replace my current one. I'll probably start prowling the buy/sell lists for an older Yammie Sound Module - the Motifs are just too much for my needs, and I am not a keyboardist.

My use of the XG Sound Module would be solely for better guitar/string voices for lead parts - particularly in the acoustic area.
Some of the PG midi generated lead parts are very good, but if there was a sudden birth of Acoustic Lead Guitar RTs, then I could see myself doing away with midi sounds altogether.
