Hey Folks, Well, this just kinda came to me one day and so I did it. Some of it is experimental in that there are two guitars in the wall of guitars that are "melodic." Not typically done, though other folks have done it: The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen, etc. These guitars play melodic phrases during the chorus, while the vocal has a different melody. I think it works. It did achieve the anthemic effect I was looking for anyway, and so I would not go back and make it less busy. I tried less busy and it did not have the same soaring vibe or stadium feel. Hope you like it. It was fun to do TO STAND AS ONEBy David Snyder https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs4/to-stand-as-oneV1 And when the fighting is silenced And the thunder is gone I will lie in your arms And we will be one Just the sound of your breathing Well let me know that we've survived And then we will cross over To the other side CH Oh we can do so much better than this We can hold one another in a heavenly kiss And we can sing the songs of joy That we have left unsung If we could only learn To stand as one V2 On the banks of a river I will brush back your hair And put a kiss on your lips And forget we are here Though we walk through the valley Of the shadow of death Our love will stand by us So I say we are blessed CH Cause we can do so much better than this We can hold one another in a heavenly kiss And we can sing the songs of joy That we have left unsung If we could only learn To stand as one CH2 We could hold one another We could love one another We could undo every evil that has ever been done We could trust one another We could forgive one another If we could only learn to stand as one If we could only learn to stand as one All music and lyrics copyright 2023 by David Snyder ASCAP/Day of Faith Records David Snyder: Vocals, Rhythm and Lead Guitars, "Melodic" Guitars, Organ, Keyboards, Additional Instrumentation, Mixing Mastering RealTracks in style: 1268:Bass, Electric, PopUplift Ev16 120 RealTracks in style: 1690:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm PopPromise Ev16 100 RealTracks in style: 3636:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm DublinPopMedArp Ev 120 ALL SONGS AND ALBUMS https://music.apple.com/us/artist/david-snyder/4071457https://open.spotify.com/artist/3v9MVdipYeCAk33vuKeIBUSOCIAL MEDIA https://www.facebook.com/davidsnyderartisthttps://www.instagram.com/davidsnyderartist/

David,
A beautiful Write. A real Love Song. With Heart. (and Then it becomes an anthem). Another level. A Passionate Vocal. Your Wall of Guitars is really well done (including the melodic ones). Good Mix. Except for the Drums. They are weak. They should be Strong in this.
It would great to hear a big choir singing along on that last chorus.
I Really, Really, Really like this (except for the drums).

Hey Floyd,
You are exactly right.
I noticed that after I had posted. Bringing up the separate Drum Bus is EASY BRO.
The problem I have is that "in your face" U2 bass (a la Streets with No Name) is done on purpose but the drums are lost. Easy fix. Thanks for pointing it out. Consider it done.
The layer of choir in the Rideout for the final mix is a great idea.
Thanks!!

Hi David,
Two songs on one day I heard from you. Both are impressing, though these lyrics were a bit shorter than 'Bob Dean'. I loved that organ 'growing'with every bar. It reminded me (in a way) of 'Tubular bells' from Rick Wakeman. The lyrics are heartfelt (do you call it like this?) or right from the heart. I have my doubts if humans are capable in doing what you want them to do, but it would be great if they could!
There is one tiny thing. Because of the growing sound of the organ and the guitars, I think your vocals become a bit too soft. They are drawning, so to say. But the song itself is very, very good. 'Impressing' I said in my first line. That's just what it is!
Till your next song, Hans

Ha, it was about time someone else took another look at the Dublin sound Love it. And the guitars work really well. I would probably double/triple the vocals (wall of vocals?) in the chorus because they lose some impact compared to the rest.

I was thinking Springsteen as I listened, David. You were really pushing out that vocal. I think Floyd said it all. Great stuff.

BiaB sounds great, but my favorite parts are what you add, David. So well done. There seems an overpowering sound coming from the "strings" category, but that just maybe me wanting to concentrate on how and what you sing. Excellent lyrics and a terrific song idea as usual.

David, this is a great start and will be finished when you apply Floyd's suggestions, IMHO. Loved those guitars man! Great vocal with outstanding lyrics. I'll bet this was hard to mix.
Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

WOWOWOWOWO!!!! Great song!!! Love the lyrics and the passion it holds!! The guitars work great!! Kind of a U2 vibe in the music.....I dig it!! Like Floyd said, the drums need to stand up to the power of the song....maybe more processing than the drum part. WONDERFUL!!!! Take care. Greg

David,
I think the one thing I look forward to the most when I click on one of your offerings is listening to and reading the lyrics. They are so real and relatable, and this is no exception. The write . . . in fact, the whole song . . . has a Springsteen type feel to it. It's a wonderful tune . . . exceptional really. Well done!
All my best,
Deej

Excellent David, the chorus guitars work a treat - well written & played. I think you need a large kick in the verse to match the bass' consistency and push. To allow those two to work together a little EQ of the kick, (this is one instance when the beater click could come up a bit), and some more grit/distortion to the bass. Tres cool!

Hi David.
This is epic! The effect that you've created with those guitars is extraordinary. Never in a million years could I write nor arrange something like this. You have my complete and undivided respect.
Amazing listening! --Noel
