Thanks for reply. I was able to get notation to work and I changed the bass realtrack to one in which the notation is editable. (Bass, Electric, BritInvasion Ev 140) I was able to transpose each of the notes up an octave but when I actually play it nothing changed, the bass still goes down a 5th. Is there one more step I am missing?
You can't change the individual notes of the RealTracks bass part. Think of the notation as a transcription of a recorded bass part. However, you can use Playable RealTracks to enter some custom MIDI notes, and it usually blends pretty well with the audio bass parts. To do this, you can click the [PT] button in the notation window and enable. In editable mode, enter the notes you want - they should be green if you've enabled the PT mode. Next, you can mute the audio track while your notes are playing. To do this, click the PT button and select "create mute region..."
Also, you might want to use Bass, Electric, BritInvasion Ev 120 instead of 140, assuming that is closer to your song tempo.

Thanks Andrew, yes, I had missed mentioning that this needed to be done with Playable RealTracks. I find the Piano Roll view a good way to do this also.

Hi Andrew (At PG music), thanks for your reply and I will give this a try later today. I am currently using _OSMIUM.STY with horns in C# at 110bpm, C# B A E A#C
However, it seems like there should be a quicker and easier way of doing controlling the bass part variations. I have tried well over a dozen styles, and they all played the bass on the 2nd chord down a 5th. Would I need to enter this manual note customization on every single instance of the bar or can the bar and mods be copied and pasted? Also, I suspect the midi substitute would sound a little off.
Some say the bass is the most important part in many songs, all I wanted to do was a little bit of customization, specifically which octave is played, it changes the feel of the whole song. Shouldn't this therefore be an important feature of the application? Perhaps included in bass part variations?
Also, I was just reading about slash chords, where the bass note is different to the root note. Is this implemented in BIAB and therefore a possible solution for bass part note customization?
A similar related question is regarding bass note octave switching within a bar, which are very common in bass lines. What is the best and easiest way of doing this in BIAB?

Yes, follow the chord with a Slash character and the bass note that you wish to play, e.g. 'F/C' will play a C bass note over an F chord.

To the best of my knowledge, there's no way to do this within a bar. Probably the most useful way is to use Playable RealTracks.

I concur.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
Thanks all! This is what I ended up with. I wanted to share the .SGU but not allowed. BIAB seems to have figured out what I wanted without bass customization when I got the song right. Something I can jam guitar with for sure! I had to change the drum track to something more busy, I went with TropicalHouse^, still looking though.
