What a Nice Song! A marvelous chorus.
I love Folky Babu!!!! Your voice is well suited to this style. A perfect group of tracks (and that wonderful bass, of course). Good mix.
Exquisite Harmonies.
a delightful listen.
fj THANK YOU, floyd! I might just get a new vanity plate: Folky Babu. What a cool melody to the song Marty. Janice's harmonies were a perfect compliment to the song. Reminded my of a song from early 70's. Really cool vibe. Well done.. Thanks, Scott! I'm really diggin' so many comments saying it reminds them of... Love a travelling song, Marty. You and Janice sound great together. The delayed harmony is inspired. And I could even play this one myself (baby chords)! Regards, Leon HAHA! I'm sure you're quite capable, Leon. "Baby chords" reminds me of many guitar players after they learn the bar chord. Many years ago I bought a 1952 Electro-something from the widow of the player. I call it The Billy Stewart after the original owner. My guitar-playing friend said, "And it looks like he only played the baby chords." Van life means something slightly different over here at the moment...housing crisis, people with great jobs living in vans that move a few km each week to do the rounds of parking/camping sites close enough to commute from. This is a lovely song that reminds me of a pair of friends I have that have spent the last two years doing the "Grey Nomad" thing of travelling around Australia and seeing the sights while healthy & early in retirement. Lovely song, wonderful feel, Janice is a wonder addition as expected. A band that serves the song - all in all a fabulous thing. Yeah, I was reading about "VanLife Australia" when doing the research for this song. HA, research! Well, when I was curating the vidz anyway. This one is more about the Grey Nomads. Thank you, Ray.

Hi Jan & Marty. Lovely, carefree style song. A lighter hearted "Further on up the road" perhaps. Well produced and I like the way Janice follows you into the chorus.

Marty and Janice, you both did a fantastic job on this song. Strong vocals and cool lyrics Super mix The caliper of music keeps getting higher and higher on this forum and you set a new high bar. Loved it.
Merry Christmas

No doubt about it, another great collab. Professional in every aspect, enjoyed it much. Thanks, Steve. Marty...this is an Americana masterpiece...love the band (the acoustic and harmonica...yes) and the melody (especially the chorus) is as good as it gets...it's got that folky/country/60' sound...and the duet parts with Janice are perfecto! man in my mind you hit a homer with this little number...well done!
BTW: Two years back my brother and I took his RV and went to 13 states...I-80 from Illinois to San Fransico and then the northern trail back home through Oregon and Washington and all points in between...your song reminded me of the unforgettable time we had traveling this magnificent country...thanks! WOW, thanks, Dan. Them're strong words there, fella. I'm really enjoying so many folks saying it reminds them of times they had on the road. Someday I'd like to see you down there. Another corker, Marty. Love the You and Janice harmony. Thanks, Chay. Janice makes everyting better. Love it Marty!!! Has a retro vibe that I dig, in the music and the lyric!!! Harmonica is perfect!! And, Yes, Janice makes any song better!!! Take care. Greg Thank you, Greg. Simple strums and an easy harmonica makes you almost smell the campfire. Janice makes you glad you're there.

I'm glad I stopped in for a listen. I like this style of music.
I really liked this song. Easily one of my favorite songs from you. The music just had a peaceful feel, and the harmonies are spot on. In my early days, I was really into country and folk and this is right in that vein.
Nicely done by all!

Great duet, very balanced, voices and harmonicas in warm harmony. Although I cannot much relate to the story, my inner child would say that it's only unpacking and packing, but thanks for cultivating my soul with this pleasant folk tune No sevenths!? Janne

Thanks Marty for inviting me in on this fun song. I had a ball singing around the campfire with you 😉 and thoroughly enjoyed the short story by Christina Baker Kline. Thanks also to all who mentioned my small part in this fine project.
Happy Trails & Merry Christmas Marty! Janice

Hi Marty,
A lovely song and very nice harmonies! Typically a song that brings me back to the 60ths and 70ths. A lovely time...
I love that guitar and it's rhythm. The campfire is close by. And we all sing along, 'cause we are the travellers...

Nicely done by all! Thanks, Herb. For some reason I thought of you when writing this one. Hope to see you down the road one day. Great duet, very balanced, voices and harmonicas in warm harmony. Although I cannot much relate to the story, my inner child would say that it's only unpacking and packing, but thanks for cultivating my soul with this pleasant folk tune No sevenths!? Janne AH, Janne, that's your inner adult, I think. The inner child says, "Why pack anything? Let's just go!" Unfortunately the child of today would demand, "Hey, don't forget to pack my Nintendo Switch." There is an unwritten 7th just before the chorus. Can't go anywhere without packing at least one seventh.
Janice Most definitely one of those times where someone says, "No. Thank YOU!" Janice, if I had the hutzpah, I'd have you in every song. So far, I hear we sold 4 of her books. She contacted me to say she loves the song, and is going to feature it in her newsletter next month. Hi Marty,

Hans Thanks, Hans. Next stop: a visit with God, or perhaps an impersonator.

Hi Marty!
This is superb listening. The sound that you've assembled from these few realtracks is first class. It's also very easy to hear that this genre sits so comfortably with you. I love this 1970ish pop/folk sound and I was with you all the way. I agree with floyd, this is an excellent and a really strong chorus. Janice and you harmonised superbly. The live-performance feel was a perfect fit. I also loved the cajon rhythms. They're really great for folk music.
All the best for Christmas and 2024. --Noel
