B.

it would be best if you posted a pic of your nome settings so people can advise you correctly ...its always best to post your settings pics if you get problems
so people dont give you incorrect info.
notice alyssa pg metronome faq in the ptw faq's....
are you useing an asio driver ?

if your new to this i would suggest you read all pg faq's .
also my tips re useing a pc for music production in the tips tricks forum.

did you know you can roll your own metronome tracks in ptw ?

i have very fond memories years ago of doing loads of songs in ptw and then stunning big commercial studios what could be done with ptw. as in 'what ...for that price i dont believe it'...lol...good memories.
seriously ptw is a steal and i encourage you if your new to really delve into its features. it saved me yonks ago serious money on 2 inch ampex pro studio tape costing 200 bucks a crack.

its a gem imho for such a low price...
anyhoo post your metronome settings.
whats your sound interface ? if you need a decent one once again see tips tricks forum for suggestions.

Audible count-in is something that wasn't implemented when using Dxi/VSTi soft synths. That's because of the latency involved. During playback itself, the latency of the buffers can be taken into account when sending the metronome notes to the soft synth. I could try eventually having it implemented in the future, but I'm not sure if that would result in the count-in notes being slightly delayed and/or possibly the last count-in note being cut off when actual playback starts. It would really depend upon what buffer sizes are being used.

Whenever I work on a song, I usually create a 2 bar lead-in (such as by generating RealDrums or filling a track with a drum pattern) which serves as the count-in if recording from the beginning, and if I need to record in the middle of the song I usually don't rely on the metronome count-in but just use the punch-in feature and start a bar or two before the punch-in point.

So is this the final answer? Silent count-in is just always on no matter if enable or not?

I think it can be used with the system default synth, like MS Wavetable, but not DXi/VSTi, if that helps.
You can't use "Reroute all MIDI ..' option either from memory.
