I couldn't believe when I learned today from a BIAB tech that I couldn't move tracks up/down in the
mixer!

Pretty basic stuff.

Please implement in the next upgrade.
Thanks.

Absolutely. I believe track view was released a bit early, but no regrets as it is still very useful. Definitely needs to be completed.

I speculate, a part of the challenge is that position of tracks are tied into position of the tracks in the mixer (and I am sure some internal stuff too)... I will just add a small item to your request. If tracks will be "movable" consider mixer track position synchronization too. So mixer reflects the order of Track View.

Yes, there's lots that the system delivers, but without the polish that other applications employ.

+1

You can move the content of one track to another using Edit->Copy Special->Copy/Move Tracks.
Not the same, of course, but maybe a compromise.
Maybe if/when tracks do really become completely "all tracks the same", they'll allow moving them.

Thanks Gordon.
I mean, click on the track, drag it to where you want and release.
Same as in most DAW's.
In this case I would like my Bass1 and Bass2 tracks to be one on top of the other so I can easily see which one is playing at any time.

Yep, hence my "not the same thing...". frown

Yes, that would be a great addition to the new workflow. I do try to remember that this not truly a DAW per se. It just has some DAW loiek features. DAWs don't do Auto Accompaniment program. With the new Tracks view movable tracks would be great. I like Jeff's idea of numbering the tracks 1 thru whatever to create separation from the legacy tracks issue. Still there is legacy tracks still. I wonder what will come.

Yes I realize BIAB is not a DAW.
And yet it tries so hard to be one. (RealBand).

For some reason the Mixer seems to be strongly connected to the track names across the top of the screen.
It's almost as if they don't ever want to be separated.
Any proficient programmer should be able to visually slide around the tracks in the mixer.
