Well my first encounter with micro chords didn't go very well. I looked up how to enter them, (E9,F)(E9,F) and got them looking fine in the bar. Stacked on beats 1 and 2 as I expected.
But when I tried to play back the song that's when BIAB did its thing. Instead of playing the four chords it played two. One on beat 1 and one of beat 3 !
So much for the micro chords.

Are any of your tracks frozen? Also, have you regenerated the song by pressing F4?
Yes some are. But the track that needs the micro chords isn't frozen. Yes I have regenerated the song. It messed up my chords that I liked (that's why I froze them).

Can you take a screen shot of your micro chord window and post or attached the song. It will help debug what is going wrong. 4

Studio One (latest version), Win 11 23H2 , i9 -10940X 3.3 GHz, 32GB Mem, a 4K 40" monitor, PreSonus Studio Live III Console as interface/controller. secondarily test on Reaper, Cakewalk, and S1 on Surface Pro 3 Win 10 (latest versions).
Can you take a screen shot of the actual Micro Chord Entry window. It has a lot of option in it. That is (4) 1/8 note chords) Is that what you are going for? Thanks

That is (4) 1/8 note chords) Is that what you are going for? Depending on the tempo and time signature that may be fasts. Normal notes can be 1/4. Micros can be 1/8th or 1/16th.

Yes I am going for four swing 1/8 notes. But that's not what it's playing.

Is the song style in Swing? Did you try setting the chord to swing instead of "auto" swing.

Yes the song is set to Swing 8ths. I just changed the setting to Triplets instead of Triplet (auto). But it didn't help. I am getting one chord punched and that's it. Not even four chords. Tracks are frozen. Should I release the freezing?

You should probably look for videos on the micro cord as it can be rather complex. Each individual estimate can be included or not included. Suggest just playing around with more and less chords to see the effect.
I can get it to work in a test song, but it takes a little bit of trial and error.

I will check out the videos later. In the meantime I started a new song and entered the same chords in it. Still getting weird results. The last result was triplets for the first two chords and then two 16ths and one 1/8!
I also found a bug. I can copy and paste any regular chord from one bar to another, but I can't copy/paste a micro chord!

Yes, definitely the song won't regenerate if the tracks are frozen.
OK thanks AudioTrack.
I was able to get the micro chords to play properly just now after I started with a fresh sheet and no frozen tracks.
And when I went back to my song I was able to get micro's to play in the bar I am working on. But there were still problems. BIAB does not work smoothly.
The first problem was that it played the WRONG micro chords! Instead of playing E9, F9, E9, F9 it played E9, E9, F9, F9 (second F9 was also down an octave!)
The second problem occurred when I tried to regenerate this bar of micro chords. With the bar selected I hit Ctrl-F8 (regenerate selected bar). And I got this message:
"There is no RealTracks on this Track. Would you like to select one?"
This error was repeated three times in a row.
I am using just three tracks (green = real tracks) Bass (frozen) Vibes Drums (frozen)
I have deliberately frozen the Bass and Drums because after a lot of work was done I am satisfied with them and don't want to lose the work. The Vibes is the track where I need the micro chords to play. It is not frozen, allowing it to be regenerated.

Freezing tracks will stop all changes to those tracks, even chord changes - in general we recommend only freezing as the last step of creating your song. You may need to unfreeze all the tracks then regenerate to make things work properly.

Interesting. If possible can you email the song file to support@pgmusic.com so we can take a look? Freeze the tracks first, and let us know which bar number it happens at.
The octave down on the second F9 is likely normal behaviour.

This happens because the track you had selected in the mixer was empty - partial regeneration works on a track-by-track basis not for all tracks. By default BB selects the Melody track when you first open the program, but BB doesn't use the Melody track for styles, so likely it was correct that there was no RealTrack on that track.

If you're using Ctrl-F8 to regenerate the Vibes track, please be sure to select the Vibes track before regenerating.
