I don't mean once in a blue moon or even once in a while.
I mean each and every time you use the program?

As I've mentioned before I don't use the program all that often.
I'll maybe use it a few times and then not use it for a few months. Or I'll return to it six months or even a year later.

But sure as the sun rises every day, I can count on having some kind of problem with the program each time I return. Usually multiple problems. frown

Just do a search for my name and you will see what I mean.

The past few months and the past week I have been having problems again:

- Getting a minMaj7 chord to sound for an organ part.
- Getting bass parts to work (follow the chords properly).
- Getting micro chords to work/sound properly.
- Finding simple styles (ones that I can hear in the demos).
- Getting bass parts to walk and run when I need them to.
- Moving tracks in the mixer up or down (I've learned that it's not possible).
- etc.
- etc.

Sigh...

BiaBman, I hear you, There are a few things that need attention. That said If you want to be proficient at something you have to work at it regularly That is why baseball player take batting practice every day. BiaB is no different if I don't use if for a while i find that i have forgotton the proper process of a feature i used before. One thing for sure it is a deep and complicated program.

Let's go back to basics. There have been many changes / improvements / additions over the years. What version / build / paks etc do you have?

Yes, we all encounter problems. Some are bugs, some are workflow, some might be something else.

If you have a specific issue, can you itemize that specific issue and include 'steps to reproduce' so that we can assist to establish the cause, etc?
Specific detail is always the most basic requirement:
- I'm using blah blah
- I did this
- I opened that
- I selected this
- I expected that
- This was the result.

Sometimes we know that a particular issue has been addressed in a later version than a user currently has. Sometimes we know a workaround. Sometimes a new bug is discovered.

We don't work for the company. We are just users, just like your good self. But we all try to help each other. Yes, most of us have problems at some stage, but we always try to help to resolve. Detail is the main clue to delivering this.

Let me address these first two. I may well depend on what RealTracks you are using. I have in the past stumbled upon a RealTrack that did not play anything for mMaj7, and when I reported it, PG Music issued a patch. They said it was a problem with an index. So, we do need the info AudioTrack mentioned. With specific examples perhaps we will discover that a RealTrack or two needs tweaking.

Thanks AudioTrack and Matt.
I'll get back with the specifics as soon as I can.

Hello.

Please also let us know the exact build you are using. You will find this by going to Help | About Band-in-a-Box and checking the version and the build (the number in parentheses).

Thank you!

OK I'll try to be as detailed as I can.

First I am using BIAB 2024 v.1111 UltraPak Windows 64-bit.

First the bass walk/run issue.
I am finally having success with this. smile
I had been trying Noel96's first suggestion (two bass parts), but that involved a huge amount of tedious work.
And when I needed to regenerate parts the bass wasn't walking properly all the time.
Just now I tried his second suggestion and it seems to be working perfectly!

For the bar where I have /Db7 C7/ the bass seems to be behaving now, playing Db then C,
except for the first pass where it plays B A (1/4 notes) for the Db (weird)!

The micro chords still aren't working at all. frown

*So of the current issues I think the micro chords are the only outstanding problem now.
They aren't a huge problem but it would be nice to have them play properly.

One other thing that's important. I hadn't mentioned the search for a Simple Style problem I had.
Peter had suggested the following for styles:
Vibes, Rhythm Jazz Sw 110 (#1217) Band demo
Vibes, Rhythm Jazz Sw 140 (#1218) Band demo
Vibes, Rhythm JazzBallad Sw 060 (#1219) Band demo (smooth)

I listened to them here and they sounded great!

Unfortunately I only have access to the first 1217 style name (_JAZVIBE.STY).
And even that style doesn't sound nearly as good as the demo.
1219 is really nice and smooth, but again it seems I don't have that style.

Might I make a suggestion?
Allow customers to purchase individual styles (at a reasonable price) instead of a package of 10/12 or more styles many of which they have no need for.

*Subject to further updates...
