Does the latest version of BiaB allow custom endings at the note level to be created?

Let's say I want a custom ending similar to any that this guy talks about. Can you command a guitar RealTrack to play a specific lick at the end?

Custom Blues Endings

The only mention of custom endings I can find in the manual is on page 65, which leads me to believe it can't do this.

"Song endings can be turned off for all songs, or on a song-by-song basis. For example, you might want to have your own custom ending that ends the song on the 3rd beat of a bar by playing a shot."

I'm not interested in learning/using MIDI at this time, if BiaB can't do it my plan B is to attempt it on my physical keyboard.

Any help would be appreciated.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Steve, if you have the polyphonic version of Melodyne you can do it there.
1-bring your BiaB tracks into your DAW
2-one by one bring the tracks into Melodyne and modify the notes to your satisfaction
That is delete the notes you don't want held and lengthen the ones you do.
I know it is a PITA but it does work.

I may be wrong but I don't know a way to do that in BiaB, but then again I get out of BiaB ASAP, so others will have to help if in fact it can be done in BiaB.

Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

You can turn off the auto-ending and use a tag instead (Edit->Song Form->Settings (for this song), but possibly only if the song has more than one chorus. I can't remember exactly and I'm presently, as usual, in a different OS.

Hey Mario, thanks.
Based on the users manual I had my doubts that BiaB could do it; thanks for confirming.

I do have Melodyne (within Studio One Pro) but I'll attempt it first with my keyboard.

It certainy would be nice to have this capability in BiaB not only for custom endings but also for instrument solos. But in deference to and in conformity with the recent poll, I won't request this in the Wishlist forum. Most of us voted for no new features in favor of fixes.

Yes, I watched a video on this.
But as near as I can tell, it won't allow customization at the note level; only the chord level.

Bass Thumper,

The only ways I know to get note-based control with Realtracks is to use audio tuning (as Mario suggested) or to use playable Realtracks. 'Playable Realtracks' give the user the ability to change existing notes in a Realtrack phrase by using high quality midi notes. Because of this midi factor, though, with longer phrases of playable Realtrack notes, getting a nuanced and professional-sounding performance might be limited. As I haven't experimented with doing this, I don't know for sure. I'm just thinking out loud as I type this. If you want to have a look at playable Realtracks, the video below offers some insight.

MIDI Supertracks would also be worth looking at. These can be controlled at the note-by-note level.

Playable RealTracks are probably the best way to create custom endings at this time, and if a "custom endings" feature is added to BB in the future then most likely it would use Playable RealTracks to do that. Given how RealTracks work and how many possible combinations of notes, chords, phrasing, timing, etc that an ending could potentially have, I can't see any alternative.

Thanks Simon,
I realize that there would be many possible combinations of notes that custom endings could have but I wasn't sure if there was some smart way of dealing with this in the program.

FWIW, I accomplished what I needed to using my physical keyboard in this post.

I don't know if there is a smart way of doing that, but hopefully our devs will think of a way!
