Thanks a bunch Marty, glad you enjoyed this.
There is so much for me to learn on the bass.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

You tackle that walk quite nicely. I enjoyed listening to it. I can't comment on technique because I don't know anything about how to play the bass.

Peter and Brad, thanks for the listen and feedback.

David, thanks to you too. Your wetware is definately firing on all cylinders; it took a bit to think of a double-meaning title smile

A good, relatively easy, challenge is to recite the alphabet by SOUND rather than letter name. It's something I taught for 30 years or so...simply because folk were being taught "A" before "a" which is spectacularly unhelpful when learning to read. It usually took about three months to get a room full of 12 year old kids able to read it by sound...a very few were able to do it without reading. Mind you I taught the names of the letters with pre Webster sounds so it ends with zed rather than zee. That man REALLY did a number of spelling & phonetics simply to break ties with Britain in the only way he had control of.

Cheers

Ray, I have no clue what you are saying.

Back in my bluegrass/swing country days I played upright walking on a lot of our set lists. Even did a solo every now and then. 😀
Actually it's not heard much in blues but often in swing, western swing, rockabilly, a lot of Jazz and some country swing like yours.
Delta blues, piedmont blues, more modern blues and blues rock very rarely have a walking line.
BiaB has some great walking acoustic jazz RT's -- they call it "on the fours."

Most of what folks would call swing blues is actually a shuffle and harder, IMHO, to nail than walking.
Shuffles are throughout blues - mostly from the time it went electric.

Good session guys you picked and your chops and tone sound good. Nice clean and even sound (important in walking).
A really remarkable first effort! My only suggestion would be some pick up notes here and there ... particularly on chord transitions.

Fun!
