I have attempted to use the search box but it brings up nothing of relevance. I have never needed this until now and I have a measure with two shots on the 1st and 2nd beats and the next chord needs to happen right after that. So I went to bar settings and change the number of "Beats this Bar" to 2 at bar 17. At bar 18 I changed it to 4 to get back into 4/4. See screenshot. What happens is that the Dm chord starts on the 3rd beat of bar 18 instead of beat 1. The drums are the only thing that starts on beat 1 of bar 18. The bass and guitar are silent until beat 3 of bar 18. Anybody got any ideas on how to solve this?
Strange indeed. Presumably there is no audio file of the same name in the same folder as the SGU file? Any chance that you could upload the song to Dropbox or similar, and post the link so we could experiment?
BIAB & RB2025 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
I've had similar things happen over the years (although not with version 2024). The solution that worked for me was to put a chord on beat 3 (and even beat 4) of the 2/4 bar, and then to unfreeze any tracks and regenerate the song. Even though beats 3 and 4 will be greyed out in the 2/4 bar, having the chords there did something that caused things to work properly.

I just got back to the house. I have heard comments about other files being in the same folder but I have never seen another file in any of my project folders. I created a new folder My Songs and then create a sub folder of the project name. The only files I ever see in there are the SGU or MGU files.
I will see if I can upload the file and post a link for you.

Well, thanks for the info. That indeed did make it work as I had originally intended it to. It seems there are many things like this that you just have to find work arounds for, I guess. Thanks again.

I'm glad you're up and running
I have BIAB 2024 (1111) and in a song I wrote recently in 4/4, I used a 2/4 bar without any issues. This makes me wonder if maybe writing chords on beats 3 an 4 is a once off occurrence and, after that, things work properly. It's something I can't test now because everything is working as it should with my BIAB.
I've been using BIAB for nearly 20 years and it's rare for me to come across anything that I need to find a work-around for. Generally, I use BIAB to create the skeleton of my song and the tracks for a backing. Once I have those in place, I move to a DAW (Reaper).

I'm also using BIAB primarily for creating backing tracks. I'm most concerned with finding percussion/conga RealTracks that work for the songs I play. I create most of the bass tracks via midi in my DAW (Reaper) because they are very specific to the songs I cover. Occasionally, I will use a bass track from BIAB if it fits. For any guitar and ukulele rhythm tracks I just record them all in Reaper. Thanks again for the workaround.
