Hello, forum friends

After a little blank, this is my third post of this year.
Summer is fast approaching, so I've prepared a song that's perfect for the season.
It's a Jobim-esque samba/bossa nova style song.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Title: 愛のCARNAVAL (Translation: CARNAVAL of Our Love)

Vocal: Yoko, my friend
Guitar: Tatsuya Oomi, Yamaha teacher

Link:
https://soundcloud.com/animarorecords/aino-carnaval

Style is L_BATUCD.STY : Batucada (Brazilian)
Style MIDI Instruments are : Acoustic Bass (33), Acoustic Piano (1), Nylon String Guitar (25), Strings (49),
MIDI Drums
All are played with EastWest Goliath

Summary of lyrics:

Let's dance all night long until the sky turns white
Tonight is FIESTA with a full moon
I'm with you closely so that I don’t lose you in the crowd
I'll follow you wherever you go

Don't stop walking,
Twist your hips so that our bodies collide
Your breathing also gets faster and faster
With the intense rhythm

My blouse sticking to my chest makes you get excited?
Please lure me into the beach and kiss me hard

Is it a one-night love, or is it real love?
I don't care either way
I've already decided to become your girlfriend
Because tonight is CARNAVAL

The cause of my burning hot body isn't the dancing
The night is not over yet, so please continue to hold me as it is

Let's dance all night long until the sky turns white
Tonight is FIESTA with a full moon
Let’s become lovers and kiss me lots
Because tonight is CARNAVAL
The CARNAVAL of our love

Yep. Sometimes the spaces in the song make it so much better --just like how space in our creativity can propel us to new creations. And this one's a beaut. I love Jobim and the bossa, and I specialy love hearing your take on the genre, Shigeki. Man, that is not the same Yoko who sang on The Double Fantasy album, which I cleverly changed to a single fantasy. She is so GOOD. The instrument choices are perfect and, man, I love what you did with the strings.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Shigeki,

I love this song! Your friend, Yoko, always delivers a great vocal. And, as always, your writing and arranging are superb. I've always enjoy Latin music. the acoustic guitar sounds terrific - clear and so well-played. Everything about this is professional! Your music is always a treat. And that abrupt ending works so nicely.

Wishing you the very best,

Alan

Nice tune, Shigeki! Super vocals and guitar. Really nicely understated backing tracks. Love the strings snaking around in the background, too. The mix is crystal clear and the ending is very cool indeed.

Yoko’s voice is great and you can hear the joy and playfulness in it too.

All the midi instruments sound good and smooth as always and
the guitarist Tatsuya is awesome. Great mix!

The samba/bossa style is very engaging.

Enjoyed it!

I think this is the first Japanese bossa I've ever heard... and it sounds really good, even though I don't understand a word of it.
Excellent vocals and guitar playing, and you've created a very good arrangement to showcase both.
Very good!

Swinging breezy 60s bossa pop.
Absolutely fabulous

this song & sound brought to mind the fabulous soundtrack of the animated movie Mad Monster Party.
If you get a chance find it on Youtube and have a listen to Ethel Ennis' singing - particularly to the ballad (the usual prefix then.youtube.com/watch?v=hi_vTjidDGU&ab_channel=MadMonsterPartyMovie).

Definitely a perfect song for summer. I can imagine the fiesta with a full moon and a dancing couple close to each other. Lovely vocals and very enjoyable guitar playing. The melody and the chord progression are fresh and tasty as a cool drink by the beach. Highly professional work and sounds like a commercial success.

This a terrific samba/bossa.
I've not heard of Eastwest Goliath but the midi tracks sound great - and Yoko is a star.
Thanks for providing the summary of lyrics; It gives listeners the best of both worlds: a sensual foreign language and an understanding of what the song is about.
Cheers,
Mike

I watched the animated movie Mad Monster Party on YouTube.
I was a bit surprised by the soundtrack, which is very orthodox pop songs, and very different from the songs you make.
But it's natural, since everyone listens to the music that's different from the style they make.
I often listen to the music that's not my genre, too.
