I have a question about RealTracks, Playable RealTracks, MIDI Super Tracks, MIDI Tracks etc.. For reference I am using the following demo song: It Was You 130 lite-pop fem D _BARGPOP.MGU It has 8 tracks (see attachment 1): Bass, Organ, Drums, Guitar 1, Guitar 2, "Vocal, lead", "Vocal, double", "Vocals, harmonies"
When I render the individual tracks of the song I get 9 files. One for each track of the 8 tracks and one for the song. And I can see how they match.
When I export the MIDI file (see attachment for export settings) and load it into RealBand I only get 4 tracks in the MIDI file (see attachment). And I can NOT see how they match.
How do I know which tracks will get exported in the MDI file?
Firstly, with Realband, it's possible to open MGU and SGU files directly in it and then generate the files there. In other words, unless there is a specific reason for exporting from BIAB and importing into Realband, it might not be necessary. When anything is exported in BIAB and then imported into RB (or any other DAW), the start of all exported tracks will include BIAB's 2-bar lead-in. So if you import all tracks up so that they align at the beginning, everything else should align.
When using Realtracks (which are audio files wav/mp3), the MIDI that BIAB creates is related to the notation of the Realtracks plus the Drum track. Not all Realtracks have notation associated with them so not all will be exported as MIDI. If a Realtrack has notation associated with it, it will have a line under the name on the upper menu. On the image below, since there is a line under Pedal Steel and Bass, this is saying that there is notation associated with these tracks. Alternatively, go into the Notation Editor and have a look at individual tracks to see if they have notation (you will need to generate the tracks first).
When I look at your mixer, I see that there are 4 x green tracks and 3 x orange tracks. The green tracks indicate audio (not MIDI) tracks created by Realtracks. The orange tracks are audio tracks that are not created by Realtracks.
