I have 4 bars of audo recorded on my keyboard labeled "Break Kits" that I'd like 50 or so bars of the same. If I play this in a loop it sounds just like I want it in a song I'm working on; so far so good.
If I create a new track labeled "Record" with the input set to that of "Break Kits" and record this, it does record the "Break Kits" track but then when the cursor reaches the end of bar 4 it moves back to the beginning of bar 1 and over-writes itself.
Is there a way to command it to not over-write itself? In other words, rather that an over-write I want it to concatenate until I hit stop.

Are you trying to create takes to Layers? Sounds like you need to open the record panel "the little cog near the metronome at the bottom of the screen and select takes to layers in the record mode". I am not quite sure what you are trying to do?

Steve, you have the loop option in ST1 activated so first deactivate that. 1-if your keyboard plays that drum loop over and over just hit record in ST1 and record as many measures as you like. You may have to trim the start and end of your recording so it starts on measure 1 beat one and ends when you like. 2-if your keyboard does not play the loop over and over then record one measure in ST1. Trim your recording to one measure as ST1 will record prior to and past your keyboard loop. Make sure it is a full one measure. Click on that measure and hit D (duplicate) as many times as you need.
I hope this helps.
I went line dancing last night. Well it was a roadside sobriety test, same thing.

What Mario says. Loop the keyboard or the DAW, not both. When editing the track, do what you like.

Mario, I don't think my keyboard can loop what I played with my fingers and the problem with trimming the recording to just 1 bar won't work in general because sometimes I have a 2 or even 4 bar recording.
Up to this point I've been trying to duplicate with a copy and paste and it can be tedious to line-up each paste on the timeline so that it sounds right.
But I tried your "D" idea and it works like a charm, even with my 4 bars! Problem solved, thanks
