In this video, I explain an issue I encountered while trying to replace a guitar solo in my song. Despite multiple attempts and different methods, the new guitar solo remains muted. I urgently need help to resolve this problem.
Detailed Problem Description: 1. Current State of the Guitar Solo: - I want to replace the solo with a new, better one.
2. Attempt to Solve the Problem: - I select “Real Tracks” and choose “Best Soloist Real Track.” - After selecting and confirming, new material is generated. - The program asks if I want to generate new material since the solo is frozen; I confirm this.
3. Result of the Attempt: - Despite successful generation, the new material remains muted. - Interestingly, I can hear the guitar solo on a utility track.
4. Investigation of the Problem: - The issue occurs only with the specific guitar track that was generated. - When I play the track, nothing is audible. - The mixer was checked and is not muted.
5. Question: - What could be the cause of the guitar solo being inaudible? - What settings might be causing the generated guitar solo to remain muted?
Conclusion: Please help me resolve this issue. I have tried various approaches but without success. Your tips and advice would be greatly appreciated!
Could it be this simple? Your track is "frozen" (the blue snowflake icon is lite). Nothing will happen with the track if it is frozen. Unfreeze it and try again.
Otherwise, this "Style" has a couple "performance/audio" vocal tracks (orange) which may be complicating the arrangement. Try using the Track view to confirm that there is an actual .wav file on each track.
Final Tour - Not with a Bang but with a wimper! Ended.
I don't have an answer, but this may be a situation where it has been mentioned that 'All Tracks Are Equal', but possibly this is another example where this is not exactly the case.
We do know that there are other situations where the original (legacy) tracks have different inherited behaviors compared to the Utility Tracks. This may be another example that shows that all tracks are not 'quite' equal. Others will hopefully know more.
Thank you for the video, it is incredibly helpful in conveying the issue you mention.

This song is a PG Music demo and the track the user is working on has Volume Automation with the region shown in the video muted by volume automation in the Audio Edit Window.
How does a style from 2012 (as indicated in the image above have "volume automation" a relatively new feature. And for that fact how does this style have the performance vocal tracks? What am I missing here.

Styles have nothing to do with the tool features of the program. The new feature "volume automation" isn't style or year dependent and will work with any style, midi or audio. Performance vocal tracks have been available in BIAB at least since 2011 when audio recording was introduced. Just not featured in PG Music demos.
Well like any other volume automation you edit it as needed. There is a feature under Audio Edit (Ctrl-Shift-A) on PC, which permits you to view and edit the automation nodes.
My first thought is it is unusual to use this feature on a demo Guitar RT in BIAB. Specifically because the minute you regenerate the track the automation markets are essentially "broken" and they need to be redrawn. But there they are.
Good catch by Charlie, this should resolve you issues.

Thx for the info but there still is a missing piece for me.. I am in the Audio Edit Window and there is a wave-form shown for guitar. But I hear no sound.
And I don't know what to do to hear it. Where are the settings to make the track not onl play but "sound"?
Right click any blue circle dot will open a dialog to reset all nodes.
Please permit me to be redundant since this is learning for me also: Essentially five clicks to solve your problem 1 Ctrl-Shift A - brings up the track audio edit window 2 Select Guitar 3 track - brings up the track which has the volume nodes 3 Select icons for automation - shows all volume nodes on track 4 R-click on node dot - opens edit menu 5 Select reset all - deletes all nodes.
