Hi, Just updating to 2024 for Mac and with a few extra PAK options and see that the amount of my hard disk taken up by RealTracks is huge.
Is there a problem with me moving the RealTracks, Soloists and Drums folders to a USB drive?
Will Band-in-a-Box just ask to locate where the content is?

I am rebuilding the Style List and it gives me the option to use a Custom Location. If I move the content and rebuild again, will everything work smoothly?

Hi - you can move only the RealTracks and Drums folder (not the Soloists or any other folder). The RealTracks folder is by far the largest.
Yes, if you move your RealTracks and Drums it will be fine. You can move those folders to an external USB drive for example. Don't put them at the root of the drive - create a folder on the drive and then put the RealTracks and Drums folders in that folder. You just need to make sure to specify the 'Custom' RealTracks folder location in the program - Band-in-a-Box will give you the option to do so when you rebuild the StylePicker, or you can do it in the RealTracks and Drums Preferences dialogs.
Also, if you are installing something else (e.g. Xtra Styles set), do so with the Install Manager and set your custom RealTracks/Drums folder locations there so that it will install to the correct location.
The other option is of course, to move the entire Band-in-a-Box folder to your external drive. You can literally just copy the paste the folder in Finder. Create an "Applications" folder on the external drive so that Band-in-a-Box is installed in /YourExternalVolume/Applications/Band-in-a-Box"

Thank you Andrew, you confirmed what I already started to do  I saw the text files in the RealTracks and Drums folders, plus with rebuilding the Style Picker and the Download Manager pointing to custom folders; I started to copy the files over. Works a treat! BC
