What a beautiful song, Floyd, on a very real theme with authentic lyrics, plus really nicely sing and produced.

Beautiful song and music! And I do like clever song or title ideas, like using something like "Victoria Secret", which most know as a shop in a mall.

I began in 1970 with a 7 piece dance band. I had other bands, but my most successful one was "The four Windows", a 4 piece guitar band. Many concerts, TV shows, Record contract with EMI and a guitar hit in 1982 in Europe with my "Lonely Seagull".

Hi, floyd jane.
Excellent and pro on so many levels.
First, you've got an fantastic delivery. Like on "stay and grow", with the build in vibrato and the break at the end. The emotion in the vocal, and the technical control, is just amazing.
The instrumentation is great - the guitar parts, for example, work perfectly.
Each part of the song - the introduction, the verses, the chorus, the final instrumental tag - are solidly constructed. It's like looking at a well-built machine and being amazed at how well everything fits together.
The writing is next-level as well. It's clever but heartfelt - it checks the boxes of what a song should be, but still feels honest and sincere.
Listening to your songs is like getting schooled in great songwriting.

Floyd...this is beautiful on several levels...the story is precious...the music is stellar...the concept is timely and valid...the lyrics are flawless and your performance is one of your best...you, more than the rest of us IMO always deliver material that is worthy of recognition and IMO radio time...I don't know how to say more...I always look forward to the next...but I'll study this one for now...well done! Very nice of you to say, Dan. Thanks... Floyd ... this is utterly superb. For many reasons, this has struck a nerve with me. Regardless: what a song, and - above all - what lyrics. Great delivery, of course, too. Bravo. Thaks, James...

Lovely story...lovely ideas...lovely band & lovely mix. The vocal is the sort of retrained yet emotional thing you do oh so well. The only oddity I heard was the blend on believe...it sounds okay but a bit pressured, perhaps a little too close in the stereo image perhaps. I can't explain & it may well just be me & my listening gear. Lovely, sweet, gentle & wonderfully done..as is your acoustic part. Thanks, ray. I am not sure if I hear that oddity - but these ears get older every day. I'm very lazy about harmonies - they are almost always one pass and done - I do sometimes get sloppy - fix-it-in-the-mix mentality. Lazy. I appreciate the careful listen... What a lovely, gut punch of a song. Wow. Superb write, killer vocals and a very sweet arrangement. Love that little pause before the ending, too. Just masterful and thoroughly enjoyable.
Forgot to add: Knew when I saw the title I would love this song, but didn't know how. Very clever concept and a cool twist indeed. Much appreciated, Ron...

Intelligent comments welcomed. ... Artificial Intelligence....not so much... Hmh, your statement makes me wonder... how do I know that I am NOT an AI? I mean, I could go the easy way of Descartes and say, "I think, therefore I am. But, WHAT am I? A human being? An AI? An actor in a dream of a sleeping dog? And even if I did find out, what about the other personalities that live in my head? These voices I hear. Are they real or just artifacts of incomplete AI training? I think I have to write a song about that... Anyway, no matter what I am, I (or something in my head) think this fingerpicking style fits sooo good, and so does the piano, they complement each other so well. Wonderful backing tracks! And I love your lyrics, I wouldn't mind if there was another verse. A good story that I can relate to and calm but emotional vocals to deliver it.. Great stuff. More please! Encore! If you ask AI to write a song about AI would you get an autobiographical 2000 page epic? Thanks for the nice comments, BD. Hi Floyd Very good song I like the song structure You always find the right BiaB band ;-) Vocals fit very well A great mix Andi ;-) Thanks, Andi... Great job, Floyd! Especially fond of the chord changes in the chorus and the melodic lift you give it.
Dewey Thanks, Dewey...

Hi Floyd,
I thought I'd commented on this a couple of days ago. Obviously not!
Vocal: strong and compassionate. The articulation in the phrasing is superlative.
Lyric: Cohesive. Says it all without a wasted word.
Tracks: A nicely coordinated group of sounds that work well together. The cello sold it for me. Perfect prosody with the lyric.
Arrangement: The musical journey touched all the machinations needed to put everything in its perfect place. Knowing where to put each instrument/element and how much influence each should have at various points in the final production is an art form you have mastered.
Mix: As expected, after everything was put in its proper place, each one had the precise voicing adjustments to meld it into a great wall of coordinated sound - each at the right level to fulfill the promise of the arrangement.
Your songs are always delivered with a truly professional presentation. I doubt a Nashville studio could have done a better job putting this together. The acoustic guitar was so nice in tone and texture.
You have a natural, God-given talent that you have honed to perfection. What a great song and delivery!
Alan

Floyd, you have outdone yourself on this one. I don't know how you can come up with winner after winner like you do. I am very envious. Your vocals are always top notch, your backing tracks always perfect, and your mixes outstanding. This one has a special meaning for me because of my wife's early life situation. IMHO this is your best to date. Much appreciated, Mario... Poignant and sensitive lyrics. Another strong vocal with emotion touched delivery. The whole song reminded me of Mike Nesmith. Thanks, Scott.... You are the master of so much, floyd. Outstanding lyrics with a masterful production. I've never heard a song of yours that wasn't just over-the-top sensational. And for all of us here, inspirational --an unattainable highmark. Great choices and use of the BiaB team. Thanks for the nice words, Marty...

A special offering indeed. Fix that "believe" oddity in the mix and then notify the Grammy Office.
By the way, I had visions of a rescue dog we once had who came to us with a sad secret past, but found love with our family. Very touching.
Final Tour - Not with a Bang but with a wimper! Ended.

This is an excellent write and piece of music. It hits close to home. My wife's father has probably entered the last weeks of his life and we've been doing all we can to help care for him, but there's a lot of history similar to what you paint in this song. I only tell you this because I think your writing really helps explain some of the conflicting emotions she deals with. You have don e a remarkable job (as always) of telling a very relatable story and dealing with emotions that a lot of people deal with. The production (also, as always) is top notch. I think the simplicity (sounding, not necessarily putting together) works wonderfully. I thought the way you brought in that second guitar and then the piano was great, and the cello adds a perfect touch. Your vocals, I think, are outstanding - the exactly correct amount of processing to my ears. I did hear a little bit of a crackle in the recording at the very first word in the song, and then again at about 1:45 that sounded like a cut or something - just info. Great song Floyd, you always bring so much to this forum!
Brad Brad - thanks for the nice comments. Hopefully the positives are as relatable as the negatives in this narrative (and in real life). Love conquers all. floyd
A truly lovely song. Nice sounding acoustic bed, very well done. Excellent vocal and lyric. Up to your usual (very high) standard.
Peter Thanks, Peter... What a beautiful song, Floyd, on a very real theme with authentic lyrics, plus really nicely sing and produced. Thanks, Chay... Beautiful song Floyd. i must say this is now one of my favorite vocals of yours. Cool lyric and backtrack. Well done.. Appreciate that, Scott...

As good as it gets, fabulous vocal, great sounding track, and totally pro mix. Great song idea, and write too.
I'm hearing an artifact between 1:41 and 1:42 you might want to check, should be an easy fix.
Wonderful song, Floyd, enjoyed very much.

Firstly, what a clever title!
This is a lovely production through and through. No need to do much, if any, parsing as it all speaks for itself.
We love the tender, sweet lyric with the lead and harmonies full of emotion.
The band is great - the guitars and piano interplay is so good and the cello and viola fit the mood so well.
The pro level mix sounds so good on all our systems.
What David Cuny so well said!
Loved it!

Every aspect of the music making process is important to me (and luckily, it's all fun, too), so to have positive comments about the vocal, the instrumentation, the arrangement, and the write are...satisfying. The fact that I know you care about each of those things just as much makes it even more so... Hi Floyd,
