I've just come back to BiaB from a fair absence and I'm finding a problem with some stuff I used to be able to do (at least I think I did).
Basically I want to input a melody directly from my midi keyboard with a BiaB style set up.and have it recorded on the melody track.
The problem I had was in setting a midi patch for the melody track. No matter what I selected as my patch, nothing appeared to be inserted. The only way I was able to achieve this was by inserting one single note on the melody line. Following up from this discovery, I started over again. Now I selected my melody patch in the orignal song. This time I went ahead and recorded my midi, even though I could still see no patch inserted in the mixer grid. But ..., I COULD hear the melody as I played and, when the melody was complete and I had accepted the midi, THEN the patch showed up in the mixer grid and I was able to use it for further recording.
I can't remember this behaviour. I'm fairly sure that the patch appeared in the grid when selected.
Am I doing it wrong?

Hi Jonel, it sounds like you're talking about the standalone BIAB program. This forum is for the BIAB DAW Plugin (an add on application) and not for the main standalone program which is what you're using. I would recommend reposting this in the correct forum ( https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=1&page=1). You'll have better luck getting the right answer to your question in that forum. Hope this helps!
