This brings me back to back in the days and spinning vinyl on the turntable. Love that acapella section. So cool and clever. Great vocal by D.A. You've got some dark imagery in those lyrics. No complaint from me.

Thanks, Scott! Miss a lot of things about vinyl for sure. I admire dark lyrics when they're well crafted, and have quite a few songs with them, but generally post lighter stuff since dark imagery can understandably be uncomfortable for some folks. Glad you liked this one!

That's one very busy song. You deserve a well-earned rest after that.
A well-crafted critique of the modern metropolis. Frenetic, "like germs under a microscope.. writhing like worms," crowds seeking excitement, pleasure, a buzz, but rarely satisfied. You've summed it all up masterfully.

My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile smile

“The cars were scurrying like crabs
And they looked like germs
Underneath the microscope
They were writhing like worms
And dangling like a corpse on a rope”

A very well crafted descriptive lyric that confirms our wish to avoid the city! 😊

LOVE the a ccapella interlude and could visualize the corner doo-wop fellows so well.

As always, great vocals, band and mix.

And you do that “other stuff” most excellently.

Cool!

Thanks, Brian! You've summed up the central theme that I perceive quite neatly. Having lived in a few big cities, I find them both terrifying and exhilarating. It's that duality that I think is teased out a bit near the end. (Per usual: Not my lyrics)

J&B, THANKS for the listen and sharing your thoughts! Big city life is NOT for everyone. Grew up in mostly small towns, but went to college in downtown Atlanta. As they say, you can take the boy out of the country, BUT...well, you know the rest. smile

Frenetic & fun.
To be honest I'm not a fan of the strung out rhymes but that's me & no one else has mentioned it so - IT'S ME!
fab mix.

Cheers

Ha! Well, it isn't JUST you. The varying rhyming schemes, syllables per line and verse lengths were a bit of a puzzle in putting it to music, but I like the way it turned out. With his lyrics, there's always a cool song in there...somewhere. THANKS for the listen!

What a fun and fast paced story, really vivid, weird and busy night you have had there smile Enjoyed the play with words and rhymes, "Just ignore the nitty gritty/Decide your fate by committee" - very creative! And acapella part is really clever addition and gives a huge smile.

Great rock band supports perfectly the catchy melody. The mix and the vocals are once again top quality.

Thanks for this musical rollercoaster ride, I'm still dizzy in your city!
