Cool stuff. Grist for future songs
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Thanks for sharing. Aye. Always worth watching. I was rather hoping for a description of a couple of 'unresolved' endings that I know/use: The V(b5) and the bVI. Perhaps there aren't enough popular songs that use them, or perhaps they're not considered unresolved in the sense David uses it.

Cool video. Most of my unresolved ending are IVM7 with a few Isus4 and IIIm. But I think of all of these as I chords: I6, Isus4 and !M7 even though the bass is not always the I...

We wrote a song that ended unresolved - principally because the lyric narrative was intentionally unresolved. The song gained several SongTradr placements but the “failure” to resolve seemed to disturb some listeners on another website - not PG Music. 😀😀😀

A friend of mine recently wrote and recorded an original song (I played on it a little too) with an unresolved ending. I don't know enough theory to know exactly the relationship of the final chord to the key, but it sounds good to me. Here's the tune: SoundCloud link
