I’m unable get BIAB Mac 2024 Version 2024 (803) to successfully follow the host DAW (Cubase 13) tempo changes. BIAB has no issues reading the start tempo from the first downbeat but from there onwards it refuses to follow instructions regard any tempo changes i.e Ritards, Ralls. Accelerandos. This clearly omits the possibility of giving the song any shape, which is a real shame because the quality of the real tracks is stupendous.
I could of course edit and fix the audio files with time stretching. But that kinda is like having a dog a barking yourself. Is there a solution to this? Other plugins I regularly work with EKkeys 2, EXD 3, etc. (which are all midi based???) all follow the tempo map set by the host, perhaps it’s because they’re all midi based?
Happy to admit that I’m an idiot if it’s operator error at my end.
Any help, guidance etc. is very welcome.
Cheers
Colin

Colin Hi, Colin, Best to post this over on the Macintosh board — it is definitely not Off Topic. Band In A Box for Macintosh That said, this is a known issue with some DAWs and there are folks are working with Support to get this resolved. They may ask for more details over there.

The BIAB plugin does not follow host tempo changes in any DAW - this is due to limitations in how plugins work. RealTracks need to be generated in advance, and both VST and AU plugin formats do not have the provision of notifying these changes in advance, only at the exact moment the tempo changes during playback. You would need to add the tempo changes into your BIAB song manually - this can be done using Bar Settings.
