I find BIAB's Audio Chord Wizard (ACW) a very powerful tool.

If anyone is interested in how I use ACW, the pdf below is a tutorial that gives step-by-step instructions. It takes about 1 hour to work through this tutorial.

How I Use Audio Chord Wizard (pdf)

I have used the public-domain song, Jingle Bells. A link to this song is in the above pdf.

The song's arrangement was created by MuzaProduction. It is freely available at http://freemusicarchive.org in accordance with the creative commons license below. MuzaProduction have given permission to share and modify this file freely.

Lastly, I would like to sincerely thank forum member Jim Fogle who helped me assemble the final document.

Noel.

your treatise is brilliant. kudos for this.

feel free to critique the following...

..one problem re setting bar lines is on fast songs everything is whizzing along...sooo.
..ive experimented with slowing a song down by 50 per cent..
thus allowing improved accuracy in setting bar lines.
particularly for us vision impaired.

just an idea...what do you think ??

happiness.

Thanks, om.

And that's a really great idea. You've inspired me to create a section at the end of the pdf for any tips that BIAB users pass on. I've added this one of yours and updated the pdf.

Also, om, to help your eyes, you might like to change the purple bars to something like bright yellow. I find that yellow text on a black background is pretty easy to see. If you're interested, the below instructions explain how to do that.

First... select the options button in the ACW Window.

Second... from the dropdown menu, select "ACW baline (user).

Third... click on any color in the color spectrum below the dropdown menu. (As you can see, I have selected yellow. This is very comfortable to see.)

Outstanding, Noel.

What an incredibly comprehensive document you've created. This is indeed the 'go to' for using the ACW.

Many thanks.

As someone who uses BiaB regularly to practice and learn bass, I often upload songs to generate bass backings in various styles to learn from the excellent musicians PG music brings to the table, and explore various ways I might develop bass lines over the same song.

For some reason, while I was pretty good at doing this with the legacy ACW, I had issues with the current one. This guide is incredibly useful to me, and I'm beyond grateful for the time you took in putting this together and sharing it with us!

Thank you so very much, Noel :-)
