could someone else try the demo and see if the acoustic guittar plays? it's RT 2914 and has an equals sign in frontbut i'm not sure what that means......i have all the RTS and i'm running 2024 with the latest patch
after an hour or so on the phone Live Chat could replicate the problem - but not at first - there is a bug in the RT and developers have been informed. the workaround for this style asnd Loneboy too is to sub the guitar part and then reload the orgianl RT so it plays. i'll mark the post resolved

Re: 'equals symbols' I asked for a legend to describe these cryptic characters in 2013, but despite a lot of support, including from PGM staff, it still never happened:
Agreed. This is what I was able to deduce all those years ago.
- Real Styles are prefaced by an underscore: _ - An asterisk (*) or (^) caret means the style is a "perfect" or "good" match - Styles with a mixture of MIDI and RealTracks are prefaced by an equals sign: =
(An on-screen legend would still be helpful )

I agree with the legend, Audiotrack. It would be nice to have as a list in Stylepicker, too.
To add to your list..
M_(name) are styles containing a MIDI Supertrack
C!(name) and C_(name) are usually refer to country MIDI styles
J!(name) and J_(name) are usually jazz MIDI styles
L_(name) are usually Latin MIDI styles
NR_(name) are Nashville Rock MIDI styles
ZZ(name) styles are built-in BIAB MIDI styles
While I'm not sure what -(name) means, I think it might mean that a style is based on a parent style.
As an aside... There are some styles that begin with _(name) that have MIDI tracks and some that being with =(name) that have MIDI Supertracks. I suspect that these instances are wrongly named tracks.
In the naming of Reatlracks once loaded in the Mixer...
If a Realtrack has * in front of the name, it means that BIAB has determined that a better Realtrack exists that is closer to the song's tempo.
And if a Realtrack has ** in front of the name, it means that BIAB has automatically substituted the current RT for the one originally present in the style.
Thanks Noel for the updates and clarifications. You really undertook some research! Your additional findings demonstrate all the more reason that a 'Legend' would be a valuable feature .

just to make it clear, the = sign was not in the style name, it was on the menu bar next to the guitar part i hope the screen shot appears!
during live chat support told me that normally means the instrument is not 'part' of the style - ie a native instrument but as the RT in question is supposed to be part of the style I think that may have been the clue that gave them the idea the bug was with the RT.
when the style 'called' it, the RT did not respond properly - or at least that's my guess
took a while to resolve but plaudits to PG for sticking at it and identifying the problem and promising to fix it
The problem is the "=" sign. I agree with the OP, this does not appear to be proper. But to be honest I wouldn't give it a second thought since it plays fine. But he has a point.
Exactly Charlie - plays fine in 2025! But I have 2024 and will only get the update by paying for 2025. I assume you have an advance copy of 2025. And Dr Dan my issue is not with the '=' sign but the RT not playing in 2024. It's a minor issue as I can get round it but it's a bit of a pain. Still BIAB is an amazing program and PG is a great company.
well some of us wait for the forum notice and by the way i noticed the news has not been updated yet - but looks good and i presume i'll get the usual email in due course
