In October 1975, Angel Oak released Making Plans Album and on October 04, 2024, Numero Group Records, a Grammy Nominated record company has digitally re-issued the album world wide available on all the major streaming sites. I wrote nine of the ten songs and co-wrote the tenth. Two singles were released from the first album, Everytime and Linda.
To date, two digital singles have been released, I Saw Her Cry and If You Can't See The Light.
I Saw Her Cry is in a documentary, Wayfarin' Strangers and also the movie, "Summer 03"
The tree on the album cover is on a barrier island close to Charleston, South Carolina. Angel Oak is the name of the band Charlie was with at the time.
Quote
The Angel Oak Park is located on Johns Island where you can find what is known as "A Lowcountry Treasure". The Southern Live Oak tree is a historical site and focal point of one of the City of Charleston's public parks. It is considered to be the largest Live Oak Tree east of the Mississippi estimating to be 300 to 400 years old. The Angel Oak receives approximately 400,000 visitors each year. The tree is 65 feet high with a circumference of 25.5 feet, shading an area of 17,000 square feet.
Thanks Jim for the additional detail, and especially for the photograph of that very famous tree. That adds further excellent perspective to the creativity behind the production. What a remarkable specimen.

Thanks for all the comments. The re-release of the album has been an unanticipated surprise after a 49 year hiatus.
I appreciate Jim highlighting the story of the Angel Oak. We grew up not far from the tree and played under the canopy and on those huge limbs many times.
Thanks again to those that listened or taken time to comment.
Note: The album has been posted by the record company onto YouTube and full-length versions of the songs can be heard there. I posted a link in the Best of YouTube Forum.

Thanks for asking about the recording of the album.
It was recorded at Rome Studios, Columbus, Ohio in May 1975. The album was released in October, 1975. It was recorded to 2" tape on an Ampeg 8 track recorder.
The band consisted of:
Mike Couch, guitar Tommy Hooks, Bass Vic Cotto, Drums Charlie Fogle, guitar Harold Fogle, Pedal Steel Guitar, Lead guitar
Everyone but Harold did lead and backing vocals.
Barnes Stone managed and financed the band and album. Harold and Barnes were responsible for the songs chosen to be recorded.
Mike did lead vocals on "If You Can't See The Light"
Tommy, lead vocals on "Everything I Do"
Vic, Lead on "With Me"; "Linda"; "I Saw Her Cry"
Charlie, "Making Plans"; 'Hey Girl"; 'It's going to End Tonight"; Everytime"; "Other Things and Other Dreams"
Mike is still actively performing both solo and in a band, Vic and Harold are deceased and Tommy and I live about two miles apart. Harold was my brother and produced the album. Tommy is my first cousin.

Great info Charlie, if my memory serves me right I think Harold used to post on the biab forms when he was living.
It's possible Harold may have posted on the forum but doubtful. He was very involved in midi prior to his passing which was in 1999 and that years before either Jim or myself were users of BIAB.
Harold lived in Nashville and was a touring musician, session musician and producer so it's possible he heard of BIAB but I don't recall him ever mentioning it. He and I did collaborate with several midi programs he had in the mid 1980's. My brother Jim joined the forum fairly close to the same time you came aboard so he may be who you recall.
Charlie. the PG Music forum software was completely changed in the summer of 2000. All posts (and good info, especially from Mac) were lost. There would be no way to go back and answer the question about whether your brother posted. However, I don’t recognize his name from my forum time in the years before 2000.
