Hi All, Several weeks back, we posted a song called "Whisper Over Berlin". Joliz suggested that we write a sequel... This is called Berlin Rain. Midnight flies over Brandenburg 10 hours on a redeye plane Flood the runway lights In the Berlin rain Found a jacket second hand shop The leather cracked against the grain Just a hint of gin Feel the Berlin rain C’mon play me, play me, play me, those old folk songs You can take me, take me, shake me, take me along The bars are empty and Cohen’s gone Her voice still hangs on that old refrain In the key of A Hear the Berlin rain C’mon play me, play me, play me, those old folk songs You can take me, take me, shake me, take me along The autumn wind is blowing cold Left JFK for an eastbound train Her sound comes down Like the Berlin rain The sound comes down In the Berlin rain Her sound comes down In the Berlin rain BIAB Tracks:3715: Guitar, Baritone Acoustic Fingerpicking 085 3121: Bass, Acoustic, PopHalfNotes 085 2811: Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm, Smooth 085 1805: MIDI SuperTracks Synth Pad 065 RealDrums: AmericanaRoots16ths Other Notes:Pre-Production: Track Editing GarageBand & Logic Recording Console: Tascam 488 Joliz & RealTracks: Transferred to 488 My Vocal: Recorded directly to Tascam 488 My Mic: Placid Audio Copperphone Martin D-18: Bob Fingerpicking & Fills As always - thanks for listening! Another freaking corking song, Bob! Brilliant lyrics, arrangement and production, and that piano was a perfect choice.

Geez, Bob, this is fabulous. LOVE the opening, and your D-18 makes a great onramp to the next section. You and Joliz sound wonderful together (again) and I really like her unique harmony choices. That hmmm harmony section is a particularly cool device. The piano is very regal and like how you have it coming in and out. The pad makes a nice thrum under the proceedings. Anyway...NICE ONE!

Bob and Joliz, This is a fantastic song. Super vocals and harmonies - brilliant Really good lyrics. Great piano track. This could have been sung by John Prine. One of your best.

Bob & Joliz,
This is a wonderful song. There's absolutley nothing about this that could be better. That piano carries the backing tracks so nicely. Your voices compliment each other. the simple band and arrangement allow the message and fell of the song to shine.
It doesn't get a lot better than this.

I'm in my happy place with your geography songs. The bass comes in VERY boomily and stays that way. In fact the band entry almost swamps the vocals. No one seems to have noticed so it may be my set up...headphones. The additional vocals are a treat and seem to have always belonged. Your finger picking is also a welcome addition. Yay!

Miraculous. Your best song, yet? Incredible. Beautiful. The harmonies from Joliz, and the way they make you sound together ... out of this world. Feels as if I was back in Berlin (after twenty years of so), for a while.
Hats off to the both of you.

Nice work.
I think I'd rather hear the female vocal doing harmony instead of unison. That would have put this at a much different level.
Nice choice on the instrument tracks.

Nostalgia always works for me! I can see Berlin again in front of my eyes, although it didn't rain when I was there Very nice arrangement, the piano works splendidly with the tune, the drums are atmospheric and the synth pad adds nice soft layer. "play me" and "take me" parts are memorable and feel classic. Lovely vocal performances, I enjoyed how your voices work together. Janne

No need to parse it out … the complete package is excellent! How cool with you and your D-18 for the opening! Great tone with the piano track. Joliz’s harmony and humming is spot on as is that lead singer guy. The Lyric is a great follow up We especially like: “Found a jacket second hand shop The leather cracked against the grain Just a hint of gin Feel the Berlin rain” You always take us on a journey where we experience the sights, sounds and fragrances. Outstanding! J&B PS Janice loves her old D-18.

A nice slice of life told with superb lyrics. "Found a jacket second hand shop The leather cracked against the grain" It doesn't get much better than this. Good sound made with the instrumentation and both vocals and a good sequel.
