Dancing on the Moon

While we were in the mountains my good friend BobH and I did a lot of guitar playing. One song we did was Moondance and I came up with some good guitar licks; at least I thought they were good but you be the judge. Luckily I had my trusty Tascam DR-05 on and recording; thank God for that as I would never had remembered what I played. I replayed some of those licks on this song. Hence the name Dancing on the Moon.

BiaB style = Battle MIDI Syncopated 80's Rock
Tempo - 90 BPM
I deleted the guitar and strings
Bass - Ample Bass - Preset YingYang
Piano - Arturia B3 - preset Snake Eyes
Drums - BiaB MIDI track using Ujam's Phat - preset Mellow Groove as the sound sourc
I am playing my Xaviere Pro guitar and via my breath and keyboard controllers the Swam Tenor sax.

As always all comments are welcomed.

he mario,

Moondance is one of my all-time favorite songs. It's a pretty easy chord progression, yet sounds much more complicated.

And yuour song captures all the good and melds it into a great sound. Nice guitar licks! love the percussions - ear-catching and great drivers for the song.

I like it - a lot!

Alan

Mario, super fun jam! Love your Scofield--ish guitar tone and those cool figures. The section where you play off your (always cool) sax is really cool, too. Can relate to your paranoia about losing a musical idea. My phone must have hundreds of hours of audio notepad recordings...

Thanx Floyd.
You don't want to see me dance either as I couldn't dance even if my life depended on it!

I really like those Swam instruments. I hope to save enough money to get more Swam software.
I have had the Tascam DR-05 for a number of years now. It has been up in Adirondacks many many times!

With the deletion of the guitar and strings, the Syncopated 80 rock doesn't sound 80s, only syncopated, and I love it. Such a cool sound. Good thing you had the Tascam with you.

Rocks and trees are very inspirational and you and Bob captured the natural essence. You even made up your own dance to the moon. I can see the campfire dancing, moving like a cobra to that sax. Good jam, you two.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Guitar and sax are both excellent in chops, tone and arrangement.
Man, to be able to sit down and do that ... I'd have to drug away. smile

Really like that drum groove also.

Great listen!

Thanx Marty, but Bob is not part of this song. It was our jam that produced some of my leads and I carried over those leads to this song.

Janice and Bud, thanx for listening and commenting. You don't need drugs to use MIDI. I'm positive that if you tried you could do it, probably much better than what I am doing!

Jazzy and funky tune, I enjoyed the mysterious feeling, something strange or criminal is happening on the Moon, oh I can see Mario & Bob jamming there, that's criminally good wink Great licks and the sax plays cool and exciting melody, some nice dueling also. Very cool band, the drums add tension and the organ fits the Moon theme perfectly.

You've got some good stuff here Mario. The guitar work is good and I like the tone. I thought the sax really stood out well, and cool drum intro!
