Time Passes (YouTube) Update: The song was placed on a very popular Spotify playlist (2K plays in three days) and as PeterF said, “we’re sandwiched in between the little known artists Fleetwood Mac and Paul McCartney.” Alert: Old school lip sync video with images and clips via my cellphone camera shot at a local 50 acre arboretum where we regularly hike. The clips were shot last week and the photos over time. Had we chosen to do this in the spring or fall we could have included some really lovely scenery in the forest. However we proceeded as we’ve long wanted to do a tribute video to our passed on gentle soul friend and former bandmate who was fond of saying, “time passes and things change.” And also to our departed canine companion. As it is a bit personal we were initially reticent to post it but decided to go with it. BTW I call Janice at 67 (this month) a “junior senior” 😀 and she tried to show some of her grey hair in V1 - fitting with the lyric. But, alas, she has so much original color left it’s hard to see. Oh, those giant leaves in V2 are from the aptly named big leaf magnolia. I’ve provided two links so if you don’t like the vagaries of YT you can view it on our website. Hope it works for you and your time to watch and perhaps comment is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks to our friend/music partner PeterF and PG Music. Lyrics below tech stuff. Info from original 2020 audio post. Don’t matter if we are young or old
We may go to church or only walk in a forest Maybe we’re into Karma or believe it’s all foretold Come what may time passes things change Keep an eye on the horizon follow our dream
We may have to make our own way
The naysayers will try to block the path
Always trying to get us to join the fray Come what may time passes things change The time has come for more looking up
There’s been too much staring left and right
Why don’t we quit counting our likes and friends
keep the spirit strong things are gonna be alright Come what may time passes things change Yes, time passes things change

Hi J&B and Peter This is superb listening and equally superb viewing! (I went with the audio first and then I watched the video.) I love the way you've used the AAA format with the refrain at the end. And what an outstanding refrain! As I see it, it's a perfect line and it is placed perfectly... "Come what may, time passes, things change". I love the way these words so succinctly summarise what the journey of life is all about. This song is a great tribute to your friend and memorial to your canine companion. The production and the presentation are awesome. The three of you are an incredibly polished team of musicians. Everything about this is song is first-class excellence. I especially want to congratulate Janice on her vocals and harmonies. Truly... they are sublime. Paraphrasing something that floyd said many years ago... It's true! Janice could sing the phone book and hold the audience captive with her wonderful voice. All the very best to the three of you. --Noel P.S. Janice and Bud, I sincerely hope that Hurricane Helene has been kind to you. P. P.S. Happy birthday, Janice. May a million great things come your way.

Janice & Bud,
I remember this song well. At the time, it was one of my favorite songs from you two. Listening again, that still stands today. Just a great, great song.
The performance by Janice is a standout and the video adds something very special to an already special song.
"The time has come for more looking up
There’s been too much staring left and right
Why don’t we quit counting our likes and friends
keep the spirit strong things are gonna be alright"
Perfectly stated and it feels even more relevant today...
Bob

May a million great things come your way. Thank you Noel for all you wrote. We’ve been fond of that structure for a long time and are glad you liked it. And we especially appreciate your quoting of the lyric - from a great writer that means a lot. Your kind words about the vocals put a big smile on Janice’s face! Due to an unanticipated last minute change in Helene’s path we only had minor issues. We each have a sister in North Carolina and it’s been tough for them. Thanks for all, J&B

As time passes, I find the best occupation to be listening to J&B songs. Another fantastic beauty. Love those harmonies. Fabulous. Peter always adds the perfect touch. Yeah, you'd need a lot of wigs and makeup to make Janice look old enough to sing of time passing, but, man, nothing is needed for her to sing a timeless version of this wonderful song. As always, you three show what sensational talent can sound like in collaboration.

J&B&P (that sounds like an lawyers' office doesn't it!), listening to this song was an outstanding passage of time for me! You all are so good together. Super vocal, mix, guitar, and video.
Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

Bob Thank you so much Bob. We are glad you felt the video added to the song. As mentioned in our post we initially had some reservations about posting it. We appreciate all you said and, man, having you quote our lyric is very special as we are huge fans of your writes! J&B

Wow, what a great song! SUPER vocals and love the vocal/harmony/BGV arrangement throughout. Great job on the gentle guitar leads, and the mix is outstanding. The video turned out great IMHO. A lovely setting for a lovely tribute.
Well done!

Really nice sound from you all, especially those acoustics and of course, the vocal. We are lucky to reach a certain age and be able to write about it. Vic

Love the border collie, but I love the song video and video more. Though if I met the dog, my favourite breed, that could change.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

J&B&P,
Right off the bat - your mixes stand above all the rest. A lovely video. An emotional song. An impeccable vocal. Peter's work is seamless.
Sorry for your heartbreak.

A lovely video for a lovely song!! Everything is in perfect balance with the mother nature. The lyrics crystallize the simple, but clever saying very thoughtfully and the video strengthens its beauty. The arrangement, Peter's guitars and mix are top quality as expected. And Janice is the finest flower at the arboretum and her performance expresses all the goodness in the world.
Janne
