Hi All, Here's another new one from us. We wanted this song to sound like an album track from the late 60s / early 70s that has been played heavily for years. Production wise, this has a bit of a “loose” mix with a “vinyl” treatment. Slightly blunted acoustic guitars, a lower mixed bass, a little saturated overall and lot’s of wear in the grooves. This is called WAKE UP CALL (with Joliz). I heard the rain coming in from the city’s edge A slow unraveling pulling at the thread You were lost somewhere beneath the fold I was wide awake stoned and cold I called your name but nothing stirred The dawn broke through without a word I wondered how the light could turn so dim What we missed between the lines and the skin It was a wake-up call from across the line All the songs that we left behind Now I’m standing here just watching it fall In the space you left the weight of it all You said we’d find our way through the dark But we lost ourselves before we left a mark Now the coffee’s cool and the sky so bare You are just a ghost that flies through my air It was a wake-up call from across the line All the songs that we left behind Now I’m standing here just watching it fall In the space you left the weight of it all BIAB Tracks: 2474: Bass, Acoustic, Held 085 1837: Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm, Smooth 075 3394: Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm 070 1543: Synth Pad 065 RealDrums: ShakerSlow16ths Other Notes: Pre-Production: Track Editing GarageBand & Logic Ozone 11: Analog & Vinyl Effects Recording Console: Tascam 488 Joliz & RealTracks: Transferred to 488 My Vocal: Recorded directly to Tascam 488 My Mic: Placid Audio Copperphone Final Mix & Track Cut: Tascam 488 As always - thanks for listening! Bob

Robert & Joliz,
SO well done! Your writing NEVER falters. Every single line is good. solid. packed to the limit... Cool retro sound.
Y'all should be playing The Bitter End. (I would not be surprised to find that you already have...)

Very cool, Bob. Yes, a fun group in the studio in the 60s. You shine so brightly writing lyrics so brilliantly. Another beauty from you and Joliz. You write and produce some really outstanding visuals.

Bob, just...wow. Super song, and I think you checked all the boxed on the sound your were going for. Love your vocals and the way you and Joliz sound together. Super choice of instruments, arrangement, mix and master. That ending is really nice, too, almost like a hymn. Great song (again)!

Until about a minute in I thougt the female vocals were a bit too loud but then I either became accustomed or they dropped a little. At 3.08 they come back up in level - particularly the echoes "mark" which seemed a little dissonant as well. No geography though "lines & skin" does suggest cartography! REALLY nice, REALLY nice.

You have a knack for tapping in to the raw side of life.
Well done.

Hi you two. It's again a solid write with a small folk club sound. I would like to hear those harmonies tighter and not quite so piercing but the song is another fine one from you.
