Hi All,

Here's a simple straight forward old school protest song. We wanted to give this a bit of a Sly and the Family Stone feel.

This is called BILLBOARD WORLD RAP BLUES.

Looking at billboards painted bright and high
Selling dreams to the broken telling them to buy
Mother’s counting pennies father’s on their knees
Looking for a break from these inequities

From New York to Berlin it’s all the same
Cities built on the backs they won’t elevate
One day oh one day before too long
The fire in the streets will blaze a new song

Chains on the renters cuffs on the poor
Tell me who’s winning in this crooked war
Politicians talking but they don’t know the pain
Where the hungry hands reach out in the cold rain

From New York to Berlin it’s all the same
Cities built on the backs they won’t elevate
One day oh one day before too long
The fire in the streets will blaze a new song

Those billboards flashing wealth streets all lined in gold
But it’s all just a show ain’t that what we’ve been told
Houses grow tall wages stay low
Choking out dreams so come and let 'em know

From New York to Berlin it’s all the same
Cities built on the backs they won’t elevate
One day oh one day before too long
The fire in the streets will blaze a new song

From New York to Berlin it’s all the same
Cities built on the backs they won’t elevate
One day oh one day before too long
The fire in the streets will blaze a new song

Diggin' the BAND.
And your guitar work.

Very cool vocals from both of you. Passionate lead, haunting BGVs.

Good write.

You nailed that Sly vibe
I loved those vocals and lyrics
Great mix.
Outstanding guitar licks

Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

Joliz and Bob,

You nailed it! Love the straightforward lyric - have to agree with it.

Super band and the vocals are spot on. Love that musical groove - especially that bass line. Infectious!!!!

Everything about this says "WOW!".

Wishing both of you the very best,

Alan

I got a serious Bob Dylan feel from this.

Good writing as always.

Always happy to hear a new Bob Dean production. Man, your creations are so very different with that one common element: catchy goodness. Man, those harmonies are so good, and I really like your choice of where and how they go. Excellent band and that consitent catchy goodness. Love it Bob & Joliz.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Funky and fun! Love the vocals and BGVs, and that's a sizzlin' guitar for sure. Super tune and ominous message. Hope those fires hold off, but time will tell...

Hi, Bob.

Funky and dark - vocals are nicely gritty. Interesting harmony.

Good to hear you on the solo guitar! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?
