Hi All,
Here's a simple straight forward old school protest song. We wanted to give this a bit of a Sly and the Family Stone feel.
This is called
BILLBOARD WORLD RAP BLUES.
Looking at billboards painted bright and high
Selling dreams to the broken telling them to buy
Mother’s counting pennies father’s on their knees
Looking for a break from these inequities
From New York to Berlin it’s all the same
Cities built on the backs they won’t elevate
One day oh one day before too long
The fire in the streets will blaze a new song
Chains on the renters cuffs on the poor
Tell me who’s winning in this crooked war
Politicians talking but they don’t know the pain
Where the hungry hands reach out in the cold rain
From New York to Berlin it’s all the same
Cities built on the backs they won’t elevate
One day oh one day before too long
The fire in the streets will blaze a new song
Those billboards flashing wealth streets all lined in gold
But it’s all just a show ain’t that what we’ve been told
Houses grow tall wages stay low
Choking out dreams so come and let 'em know
From New York to Berlin it’s all the same
Cities built on the backs they won’t elevate
One day oh one day before too long
The fire in the streets will blaze a new song
From New York to Berlin it’s all the same
Cities built on the backs they won’t elevate
One day oh one day before too long
The fire in the streets will blaze a new song
