BIAB can be used to learn guitar from transcriptions.
However I'm using a MacBook & have found that navigating through the BIAB Notation & Guitar windows using shift + arrow keys is a bit of a pain and tried using an Airstep footswitch and also a Contour Shuttle as a more convenient way to scroll through transcriptions one note at a time. Anyway neither of those worked properly.
So I decided to design & build a gadget that connects via bluetooth to my MacBook and has a single knob which when rotated clockwise sends <shift> + <right arrow> for each click and <shift> + <left arrow> the other way. Pressing the knob pauses / resumes play. Optionally, a standard footswitch (i.e. Roland, Boss Airstep etc) can be connected to it to use 2 switches to go forwards or backwards one note per press - although I prefer just using the knob.
The knob has 20 divisions per turn and moves forward / backwards exactly one note each division (no dropped notes or skipping around).
It works with OSX. I have not yet tested it with Windows.
