Thank you David,
I do love a bit of word play as well as story telling.

Man, just like watching MTV a number of years ago. I'm glad you decided to move forward with this. Like others have said, your vocal could come a little more forward in the mix.
Sometimes, when we dust off some things we set aside a while back, it turns out really nice when we play with it again. This is a perfect example.
Uh ... my dishwasher quite working a few days ago ... if you're available to help out, let me know!
Best to you, mate!

That bears repeating. Ditto. Ditto. Ditto
Cool video.
The piano really caught my ear this time around. Love it.
This one sticks in your head. For a very long time.

Ta fj,

it wasn't until I found the piano part that the "song" became more than some chords.

Cool!

The kitchen is very like the one of my childhood, slightly different colours and there was no room for a table but the image grabbed me with nostalgia as well as a appreciation of the design aesthetic of the time.

Frenetic accompaniment countered by a calm vocal. Cool. I want to get up and bounce and dance, but I would injure myself. Vocal sounds good!

Very 80's Punk ... reminds me of many a wasted night in CBGB's. I had difficultly hearing the lyrics as they were deep in the mix, but I read them ... interesting story.

Hi, Ray.

Catchy song! Too bad the vocal is buried in the mix.

I'm going to strongly disagree with the idea that the instruments sell the song. It's the vocals.

While your singing isn't where you want it to be, for this song, it's perfect.

No doubt you have an idea in your head of what the vocal should sound like, and are judging it based on that. But none of us are approaching the song with that notion.

This song doesn't need someone with a wide range to deliver it - it needs attitude, which you deliver in spades. laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Very "punk-rockish". I guess the vox are about where they need to be but without the lyrics I'd have had no clue of the jist of the song.

This is a really great song all around - reminds me of Chas & Dave - but the lyrics are hard to follow as the vocals are too low in the mix.

#13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you.
#58: Bring consciousness to it.

Thanks Scott,
the chorus piano certainly gives the impression of speed but it's only 170bpm.

Thanks Elliott,
I envy you your CBGB's nights. My Sydney equivalent was The Stagedoor Tavern a place where I saw Midnight Oil around the time of their 1st album and many local and international acts. no where near the cultural kitchen of a scene of your end but pretty good for Sydney.

Thanks,
lots of "ish" for certain.
I tried boosting the vocals a little but the freqs needed to cut through enhanced the essing etc.

Thanks,
it does have the kitchen sense of C&D though, I hope, without the droll humour and the spelling borrowed from Slade. Rockney was big for a bit.

This is a very cool song Ray. Very creative lyric. I think your vocal was perfect for the song. You do need to put the dishes away tho. ;-)..

Well done

Clever words, as always, some brilliant rhymes. Good vocal, blended in the mix well. Fun tune. Overall, a winner.

rayc,

I'm not sure what genre this song should be classified in.
If I had to say, I'd say it's in the rayc genre.
It's so original.
Your vocals fit the song perfectly.
The video is great as always.
Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.

Best regards.

Hi Ray.

This was really entertaining listening.
Your video is terrific and the mix is genre-perfect.
What really captured my imagination were your internal rhymes... there are so many of them and such clever rhyming.
I'm glad you stayed with the song as the end result is a fine addition to your music catalogue.

All the best.
