Hello! This is a cowboy swing type of tune inspired by a musical documentary about a band leader called Bob Wills from the 40's era that I watched the other day and I say "why not?" so I created this tune.

Hi, Mike.

A snappy tune! I enjoyed it. smile

As the song was playing, I read through some information on Bob, and found this tidbit on Wikipedia explaining how a cowboy band picked up horn players:

Quote
Wills added a trumpet to the band inadvertently when he hired Everet Stover as an announcer, not knowing that he had played with the New Orleans symphony and had directed the governor's band in Austin. Stover, thinking he had been hired as a trumpeter, began playing with the band, and Wills never stopped him. Although Wills initially disapproved of it, young saxophonist Zeb McNally was eventually hired. Wills hired the young, "modern-style musician" Smoky Dacus as a drummer to balance out the horns.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Cool song, Mike. BiaB has some nice tracks in this genre that we don't hear much. It should be noted that Bob's band, The Texas Playboys, were named a couple of decades before Hugh Hefner named his magazine...

Hi Mike,

This song sounds so cheerful in my ears. It's done very well, although I hoped to hear someone singing in it (on a horse).
And also nice to read that quote David found about that Bob.
But I'm glad you chose for the violin in the song instead of horns. They are not my favorite.

Great all BiaB band and production!

Man, we've been Western Swing fans for decades and always enjoyed Bob Wills and the more modern WS groups like Asleep At The Wheel.

So cool to hear this genre here.

Well done!

Hi, thanks J&B for your review. Not being my favorite style I'm not too savvy on it, but I like to experiment.
Glad you enjoyed it.

I love western swing, and in the words of Waylong Jennings, "Bob Wills is still the king!" Fun listen.

A great, vibrant mix, together with very toe-tappin' musicality.
