Some warm thoughts on a cold day in Texas...

Music and arrangement- Steve Mohacey

Memo: This stripped-down rock Style grooves fast despite its lack of drumset, and includes electric bass, keyboard, percussion, and acoustic guitar. -Examples: Dream Girl, Mona, Genre "Intensity" Score=70/100
_NEOLITH.STY. Neolithic Rock with Percussion
All RealTracks. Quintet. Tempo=110 (95-125)
Instruments: El.Bass, Multi-Drums, El.Piano, Ac.Guitar, Drums
RD: CongasEv16[single]: a: Congas b: CongasEv16[single] :Jim McGillveray
Multi-DrumsCongasEv16[single] [Multi]
RT1253: Bass, Electric, PopShiningHeld Ev 120 , Mark Hill
RT1437: Piano, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkGroovin Ev16 110 , Jeff Lorber
RT2929: Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm PopFunkyJoe Ev16 110 , Joe Robinson

I'm playing a Selmer Reference 54 Tenor Saxophone, Guardala MB1 (original handmade) mouthpiece, and Boston Sax Shop 3.5 Black Box reeds. Recorded using a Sennheiser 441-u condenser microphone w/ TRITON FetHead, Logic Pro 11, and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Video from iPhone 15 Pro Max. Video editing done in iMovie. I just bought Final Cut Pro (learning curve looks about a steep a climb as Band In A Box 2024 Ultrapak for Mac and Logic Pro... LOL).

Enjoy.

Lovely, all the way through…loved the backing band, the mix was perfect, improvisational, but relaxed…great track!

Ha, there's no doubt in my mind that you see learning curves as slow-pitch softball, Steve. Man, I love your sounds and the way you make them. Watching the video I was wonderfing if you used the elctric drum kit in this one. Cool beat you laid down so your sax can get comfortable. Gave it a couple listens so far. It's catchy and well-thought out. Excellent technique. Much enjoyed.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Marty-

No... I have the e-drums so that I can practice whatever groove I'm trying to get my middle school jazz band drummers to learn. I like to be able to demonstrate to them what my process is for learning grooves. I have 33 kids in the jazz band! So... the backing track is all BIAB.

We're on our 2nd day of no school this week due to weather. Today, I'm gonna finish a brass quintet arrangement and spend some time with Final Cut Pro.

Very nice. I really like the Real Style you selected for this one ... so much so that I just used it on a new song ... haha ... Great Sax playing!! Nice melody, mix and production.

Excellent chops and great tone
Super mix
I really liked this one.
