The facts:
1. 5 year old Dell laptop
2. Playing with Norton Music fakebook discs
3. When I increase the number of repeats the music intermittently pauses for a second then continues.
4. Using the USB port with FG-UAUDV1-C119 adapter
5. This problem does not occur when I come out of the headset jack but the music does not sound as good as #4 above.

Any ideas? Maybe a new computer?

Perhaps an obvious test would be to free more RAM although many other things could be causing this problem.

Does rebooting help?

There are some free memory Managers on the web to experiment with.

Check which apps are loaded on startup. Kill anything unnecessary. They tend to gobble RAM and slow bootups.

I have one of those Syba USB audio adapters, and it works well. There are no drivers from the vendor; it's plug & play. A five-year old laptop should be playing audio just fine.

Try downloading and running a pair of utilities: Geekbench and DPC Latency Checker. Let us know the results.

Do you have any other apps that use the same interface (sequencer, etc.). Are they also running?

If not can you export MIDI from BiaB and run through it, if so is the problem still there?

Not a cure, but perhaps a clue.

We think it may be the RAM issue. Windows 10 loaded unstoppably on my computer...we think the problem started then.

Please define "unstoppably". Thanks.

I asked about rebooting because, IIRC, that will clear your RAM. At least that was true in Windows 7. I haven't dared to go to Windows 10 (yet). Too many unresolved issues.

I hesitate to recommend third party apps but Wise has a great system toolbox that I use successfully. It has a RAM Optimization tool that maximizes RAM.

The Pro version was available free at www.majorgeeks.com I think it's now $29, not certain.

Adverb of unstoppable......according to an online dictionary. I've never used it or heard it used, but Windows 10 started downloading and I just couldn't stop it!
