RealTracks Artist Bio: Jon Herington

Jon Herington discovered a passion for music at a very young age, studying piano, saxophone & harmony while still in grade school. A love of pop music and electric guitar came soon after, however, which set him on a career performing with some of the world’s best musicians. He has been the guitarist of choice with the legendary band Steely Dan since 1999, both on tour and in the studio. He has also toured with the likes of Madeleine Peyroux, Donald Fagen, Boz Scaggs, Boz Scaggs, Michael McDonald, Bette Midler, and many more.

In addition to his work with these iconic musicians, he has also recorded and produced four solo recordings, the most recent being "Time On My Hands," which was nominated for Vintage Guitar Hall Of Fame Album of the Year. Jon also released the book, "Arrangements for Guitar," a collection of 18 songs arranged for unaccompanied guitar in the unique "chord melody" style of solo jazz guitar that he discovered as a young guitar student.
